The Glaziers leveraged buy-out of the club and the amount of money that has to be re-payed each year to service the debt? This was all good and well with Champions league football but without that source of income it's hard to see the Glaziers splashing 100 million on new players.

I would describe City, PSG etc as being in 'a fantastic financial position' most certainly United are NOT

You havent a breeze! the debt repayments have fallen right down. It's nothing to a club like United.

RECORD ANNUAL REVENUE UP 13.4% TO £363.2M (2013)

And we have two mega deals coming up for the kit sponsorship and manufacturing. Rumours suggest anything up to 150m a year for those.

Like there is so many things to beat us with but Rooney, when being asked to perform a few rolls (2/3) and not performing wow such a shocker against the best club team in the world.

    :pac:

Running back to his own thread then and relaying the responses he gets. Even though the majority of them are sensible and don't give a toss what reactions he gets to inflammatory posts. Anyways. Its been emotional. I'm actually happy to be sad in a way. There was a stage where our performances were so turgid week in week out, that it started to become a chore to watch and supporting th e team was harder when it looked like they were never fussed. The majority gave their all tonight and it was a sight i missed.

Sadly, Moyes' legacy will be how easily he managed to sap all confidence out of the fans, and all fear out of our opponents. :(
Don't think so. Think there's a bit more confidence towards Moyes from the general Utd supporters. He'll be here until at least Christmas and many are looking forward to seeing how he gets in with a new look team come August. I for one am excited with regards to the next few months.

I long for the day that we can force the big teams in Europe to counter our play and not the other way around.

Lets all just all hold hands and weep together one last time - Auf Wiedersehen Champions League für ein Jahr :(

Missed the match, I had training myself. Can anyone give me any positive points from tonight? Don't wanna hear the negative ones.

This run in could be good for Moyes. Contrary to what tabloids etc will spin, I think the pressure will actually be off him until the start of the new season at least.
Hopefully he's smart enough to start the rebuilding now. He'd be crazy not to try and get Mata, Kagawa & either Januzaj or Chico starting a few consecutive games in the run in, especially after the Newcastle game. I was thrilled to hear Mata give Kag a real positive mention in his post-match interview. It would be an awful shame to see Kag or Chico go in the summer.

Also for defense. It's difficult with Evans out, Smalling & Jones need to get some more games together. Jones was great at RB tonight, but I'm not sure if I'd rather have him at CB.

As for the centre of the pitch, well that might have to wait until the transfer window opens.

The debt has reduced significantly over the last few years as has the interest payable while at the same time, revenue has also increased dramatically. Although the numbers still look big, it's not really close to being as bad as some make it out to be.

im not trolling or looking for a reaction at all
i just posted an opinion that was unpopular & stated why i thought Rooney was poor & got a sarcastic Good Job reply i thought there was no point in replying either
if a Liverpool player performed like Rooney has tonight in most big games & was on 300k a week i would be very disapointed

No offence, but I always find myself rolling my eyes when I see an individual trying to pass his opinion off as the opinion of a larger group.

I see plenty of the "general support" furious with Moyes and want him gone too. Fair enough if you are happy with him, but don't try and make your argument seem stronger by placing an invisible group behind you ;)

Moyes' big problem is that he should have done the big clearout last summer. If he'd done that there would have been enough understanding and perhaps goodwill for him to ride out a terrible first season.

Not exactly comparable situations, but Rodgers finished 7th in his first season (although an improvement on the previous season) with Liverpool, but he got rid of Kuyt, Bellamy, Maxi, Aurelio and Carroll. He brought in some younger players and worked on bringing in a new style of play.

Moyes has simply ambled through this season without a plan and suddenly now he arrives at this summer with a massive rebuild still to do. Problem is there is no goodwill left. He has to finish top 4 next season while a raft of new players bed in.

City and Chelsea will be top 4 again.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham and United could all finish in the other two spots. Moyes is in a tricky situation to say the least.

You will get them posts on any teams thread that you come into and try to have a discussion and give a honest opinion.

Two top class cm signings and a lb and we will be in a fantastic position. Kagawa was magical tonight the thought of quality midfielders feeding him and Mata is exciting.

Not the match going fans that I've met this season. They all seem positive. Especially the ones who regularly travel to the away games.

Fact is if United had of gone out and got a decent manager (Mourinho, Klopp etc..) no way they'd be in the position they are now. 1st to 7th is quite frankly pathetic and the "these players aren't good enough" excuse is just a crutch for the support Moyes no matter what brigade.

And all the ones I talk to want him gone.

See. I can use that line too.

Aye probably a bit better in the PL alright but realistically would even SAF have won the CL with this team? I very much doubt it.

Grammar, syntax and spelling seems to take a complete and utter nosedive when we lose.
Moyes has a lot to answer for.

yeah, you can. I'm just saying from my own experience while having a few beers before the match with said group of fans.

Two full backs needed hopefully of the calibre of Coleman and Shaw an extra centre half doesn't have to be world class as i rate Evans, Jones and Smalling. An absolute beast no gamble, no quibble over money central midfielder possibly two of them and ill settle for that. Roll on next year, looking forward to the summer spending now. Light years apart in the key areas

It doesnt matter but if the manager has no track record of playing great soccer, all those players will be wasted. Look at pep, he has a philosophy of how the game should be played and at times its mouth watering, Moyes style is dreadful and anti soccer

Pep took over the treble winners. Tough job that.

Well I share Pigheads opinion, so that makes it a visible group as opposed to the invisible one you suggested. Now there may be some who share your mindset here. But Moyes still has the support where it really matters most - The Stretford End.

I think at least 1 good wide player is needed also. Probably a centre-back too.
