Rooney was a disgrace tonight, if he was carrying an injury he shouldn't have played. Such a shame as United were doing well for the first hour.
if it was Ozil we would have Neville the rest of the pundits on Sky saying he was a disgrace. I think Rooney freezes on the big European nights. As he hasn't played well in a big European game since Barca in 2011.

Do a quick tot of transfer dealings since 2005.

Rooney was a passenger out there alright. Maybe bringing him on as a sub would have been a better option but hindsight is great. In fairness to Moyes, if Rooney was close to fit he was always going to start him given his experience and usual pedigree.

United fans know how much Rooney is on and don't care what Suarez and Sturridge are on. Unless you've got something worth discussing then I suggest you don't bother with this thread.
It's an interesting point though nonetheless.

Nobody doubts Rooney's contribution to Utd over the last few years but I don't think his performances have ever justified that kind of money imo. Only two players in the world should be on anything close to that. And Rooney should have been substituted tonight instead of Welbeck. A fit Rooney would have buried at least one of those chances, not to mention his passes backwards which put the defence under pressure on numerous occasions.

Good effort by the team. Lack of quality shun through in the end although a mentally stronger team you feel could possibly have seen at least extra time tonight after Evra's goal.

RTE have the Glazers selling the team.

What's the financial status at the moment? Didn't they take out a loan?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

If Moyes was afraid not to play Rooney because it might upset him, then Moyes is weak..
If Rooney lied about how bad the injury is and how it is affecting him, then he let down the team.

What were you expecting from him tonight?

Then actually look at what was being asked of him...

And because you are Liverpool fan I expect the highest of standards of critical speak from you not just some random bullsh!t that easily typed to get a reaction you did very well with your wage comparison.

Lads please no spoilers for the other game. Waiting on the highlights.
In fairness, you should not be allowed dictate what is discussed in this thread just because you're waiting on highlights of another game.

Like the sig by the way.

Very disappointed over all but we have nothing to be ashamed of. It was all going to plan until we scored! We had limited them to nothing and were rock solid at the back. Evras goal shook Bayern into action and once we went behind we hadnt the legs to get back into it.

Despite his wonder goal Evra cost us big time. What possessed him for the 2nd goal I ll never know. He gave Robben so much time and space, all he had to do was pick his man with the cross. Fletcher and Carrick tried manfully but dont have the engine for this level anymore. Rooney was woefully out of sorts . Cant blame Moyes for starting him but he just couldnt function properly. He tried all night but the injury affected him too much.

Vidic,Smalling and Jones were outstanding. No blame to any of them , they were superb. Glad to see Vidic bowing out on a good performance. Valencia looked back to his old self. He is an absolute machine when he gets going. Welbeck played a fine game again, constant threat. The most important thing tonight was Kagawa proving that he can do it in the big games for 90 minutes. Hopefully he has convinced Moyes he is worth keeping.

We went down fighting at least unlike some of our pathetic league displays. Sad to think we ll never see Vidic in the CL for United again.

Yes but the club is currently valued at 2.67 billion dollars and the loan to buy was a fraction of that.

Can't blame Rooney. Moyes is the manager who picked a clearly injured/unfit player.

We really do need two central midfielders. Two good ones. We have nothing to offer from the central midfield. Is at f*cking wonder we are in this mess!!

You hardly know how the conversation RE: Rooney's injury went. He could have downplayed it and said he wanted to play or he might have been apprehensive.

This could be the biggest summer of transfer upheaval at utd for a long time, in fact it'll be a shock if it isn't I'd say.

Carrick was plop, especially in the first half. Got caught on the ball at least five times.

i was expecting him to get hold of the ball & try to find Welbeck.
& at least hit the target when a chance arose. He didn't work as hard as Welbeck either. He showed why Ferguson dropped him last year tbh.

The debt is irrelevant when talking about how they have apparently done nothing but leech the club since they came.

Ah now you're clutching at straws picking that apart. We're losing Rio, Vida, (Nani, Young presumeably) Anderson, Evra, Giggs, Carrick is too old, RvP is constantly injured and Zaha looks set to stay away on loan. If that doesn't require rebuilding then please submit your CV to United xoxo
