Must be something I'm doing wrong but the channel names don't always match the channel behind it.

I've just loaded MartinXp's OpenPli image from linuxsatsupport, I can confirm the display is working on a new box, not tried Saorview yet as I'm doing a full satellite scan. It's a completely blank image, has no plugins so I'm adding the few I use

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭same ol sh1te

Bugga, not working at all with Saorview

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭same ol sh1te

Got Saorview to tune by reflashing, setting to Italy and doing a full scan. Now I got to start again with this image, plugins etc......

Perhaps that'll work on other images too.

Has anyone got the ipk's for virtual zap, samba server and autotimers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 426 ✭✭FlexMcMurphy

Here's a link to Samba Server binaries and explanation of how to install it.

I got Autotimer from here and downloaded the file: 'enigma2-plugin-extensions-autotimer_20130522-r3_sh4.ipk'

    Never tried Virtual Zap.

Thanks for samba server, installing now.

That link for autotimers is dead.

I copied virtual zap from another install and it's working fine, no missing dependencies. I cannot get Rats Picon updater to work after I installed it, it gives an error saying that the script in /usr/script is missing but it isn't. I've changed the permisions to executable. Anyone have difficulty with it before?

Ok, time to give up on this for the time being, I see MartinXp's just posted an updated image on linuxsatsupport with the latest kernel and a few fixes. I got most things working but had a few issues, I failed to mount the external hdd and had some plugin problems like installing samba server and getting rats picon updater to run. Other than that it's a nice snappy image. I had to replace the oscam files in /var/keys with my own to get it to work. The Pli-HD skin comes pre-installed but not default. The terrestrial tuner must be set to Italy before scanning.

I would be much happier if the fixes could be applied to another my own Open Ar-p, too many issues with this

You click on the word 'Download' next to 207 KB and the filename: enigma2-plugin-extensions-autotimer_20130522-r3_sh4.ipk

    It needs to go into

    /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins

Maybe you put it in with the Extensions

Which goes in SystemPlugins? The script?

I'm getting an error installing autotimers, missing dependencies.

    spark7162:/tmp# opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-autotimer_20130522-r3_sh4.ipk
    Installing enigma2-plugin-extensions-autotimer (20130522-r3) to root...

    * enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-mphelp * enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-toolkit *
    * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package enigma2-plugin-extensions-autotimer.

Anyone know where i get them?

Extract the ipk and ftpthe files in, will probably work then.

Yeah, that's worked. Samba server wouldn't install from ipk and didn't work when i ftp'd it across, doesn't show up in plugins at all. I'd be happy if I could fix these few issues, mount the hdd tomorrow and also get rats updater working. Thats all I'm doing for now, too tired.

OK, I've persevered and got samba sorted and got the hdd to mount using the hdd mount manager plugin. I've also set a swap file. Recordings are working although I've only tested a for few minutes, I've a movie timer set for during the night to see how it goes. The display font is much bigger, easier to read but it doesn't display a red recording icon.

I nearly have the image complete, I'll upload it tomorrow when I get Rats working, some of you might like a nice lean image. Skin will be PLI-HD. Oscam will be working Here's what will be included.

    Autobouquets
    Autotimers
    Hddmountmanager
    CrossEPG
    CoolTVGuide
    Samba server
    Webinterface
    Rats picon updater
    Virtual Zap
    Cache flush

XBMC/VU+E2 pulls in your full epg, you toggle the bouquet by pressing the "Channels" tab in the side panel.

Actually figured that out earlier, still have some of the channels coming up with the wrong names though. What skin is that? Looks cool.

Eminence - gets the ultimate WAF approval. The guy wrote it from the ground up rather than edit confluence or another skin. Pretty light on resources too :-)

Sorry, the script goes into /usr/script/

It's the picons that end up in the other folder

I uploaded a good few plugins last week to the firmware thread ,they are already extracted so you only need to ftp them in

It'll be your poor broadband connection. Mobile internet isn't really up to the job.

I watched it pretty decent success on mobile broadband for a month or two. Can't remember if it was perfect, but it was certainly watchable (it was my main source of TV)

70ms is fine for a ping I'd say.

Gareth, could you describe your setup a bit better? You have a box with a wifi dongle attaching to a mi-fi dongle or something? When you ran the ping test, you were doing that from a pc?

I got something similar to wi-max after the mobile broadband and that was fine too.
