Looking at the man abusing Moyes, he doesn't look like a mental giant.

What do you expect him to say in the interviews? ... there are loads of players at United who are not near the quality needed to compete at the top? while Chelsea, Man City, Real Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona etc. were building quality teams spending millions and millions United buried their heads in the sand for years? ...

    Not say things like

    "we are underdogs"
"we were unlucky, got no breaks"
    "we aspire to be City"

    For starters.

His mindset is of a club like Fulham, not United.

He talks us down, he plays the Poor Mans card everytime.

In a nutshell he is simply living in cookoo land

What was Neville like as a pundit tonight? He's been annoying me lately.

Actually an interesting quote from Neville at the end of the 2nd lot of highlights they showed where he said he doesn't think chucking 150m at the side will help if it's not being used correctly. Think he said something along the lines of there's no point chucking more ingredients into the soup if you don't know what's missing in the first place.

That plus him saying they were tactically naive vs Liverpool has me thinking that he may be changing his tune about Moyes.

Thats a nice answer to another question, but not to the one I asked :p

So I'll ask again; given he's spent 65m and brought the team backwards, why do you think Moyes will improve if given a further 200m?
You say backwards but have you factored in that we lost the greatest manager in the history of the club football game? Mata and Fellani will be at United for years to come and IMO will form a central part to our return back to the top.

Ferguson wouldn't have won the league with this team this year IMO - not by a long way, the stars aligned last year for us ... the greatest manager in the world, the signing of RVP who stayed fit and more importantly the poor performances by our direct rivals - Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea were fairly pathetic last season.

Fergie most definitely would have had us challenging for the league this season.

It's called passion, something that has been very lacking from the manager down too the players.

I ain't going to begrudge a man his right to let the boss know that what is being served up this season is a disgrace.

Its kind of hard to keep up the macho big club talk when everyone and anyone is beating us .. if he went out after tonight's game and said "We are still the best team in Manchester this season" people would actually think he gone in the head... he can't win either way.

He didn't say we aspire to be City.... He said to be at that level.... which is the level where you challenge for titles.

    He can win

By getting results on the pitch.

    question time
How many goals have we scored at home against City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and Everton this season??

When you know the answer try not to be too depressed.

Bull**** Fergie wouldn't have had us challanging. 20 odd years of dominating the league and you think we'd be struggling to this extent?

Had Fergie the same team as last year, one year older, with Fel, Mata, Januzaj and Zaha all added, he'd be challenging for the title.

As for "have I taken it on board", of course I have. Everyone did. Its why everyone set their expectations lower this year, and have continued to lower them every second match, where we're now at a stage where Moyes new aspiration is to be a bit more like City.

Fergie was great, but his leaving the team should not see a team fall so drastically so quickly. The team might not be challanging for the title sans Fergie, but no way should they be this bad and this lifeless.

I'd recon about 3rd and that's and honest opinion ... we all know we are suspect in more then one position on the pitch, we all knew that last year too - remember RVP saving our asses on a few occasions after playing dreadfully not to mention City humiliating us.

What right do stewards have to protect the cringe banner? Were they asked by the stupid owner or something? I'm just curious

2 (RVP vs Arsenal, Welbeck vs Spurs)? One of them from a corner, the other while Spurs were still celebrating a goal.

But realistically we have problems all over the pitch - Evra, Ferdinand, Carrick, Welbeck, Cleverly, Young, Giggs, Fletcher, Valencia ... all of which are just not good enough for Manchester United to compete in the first team for silverware from here on in.

Not their property to remove, safety risk etc. Probably ordered to by the club more likely though tbh.

None really, but generally the stewards at Old Trafford are "unpleasant". SEF claim to represent the fans, but the majority want him gone. It was a terrible idea in the first place. The fact that they needed to protect it really says it all about the current situation.

I stuck by Moyes longer than most, but Olympiacos away (the joke of a team selection and subsequent horrendous performance) put me on the fence as to whether I wanted him to stay.

Tonight was the final straw. Square pegs in round holes everywhere. No heart. No desire. No passion. No chance.

    His time is up.

Say what you like about Moyes but wtf has Phil Neville done to deserve being called a twat?

Neville don,t belong there as part of the staff, gary Neville is the man that should be sitting in phil nevilles place.

Telegraph in UK reporting some supporters turned on SAF in OT tonight ...

"Ferguson was berated with expletive-laden outbursts from supporters complaining at the state of the team left behind on his retirement as well as his decision to anoint Moyes as his replacement"

This crap again. After 30 games last season we had 77pts and City were second on 62. After 30 games this season Chelsea were top with 66pts. Please show me where other than beating Utd these teams have vastly improved their performances this season.
The truth is that they haven't, but Moyes has absolutely destroyed Utds.

    What supporters were they?

He's surrounded by the posh criwd., none of whom would be bothered to make an utterance.

I reckon they were told. At this stage the banner removal would be a big statement, even if it was just by 10 pissed off fans.
But if this form continues the banner is going to become an (even bigger) embarrassment to the owners. Even if it's taken down officially between matches, that will be taken as a vote of no confidence by the English media.

Sir Alex Ferguson was subjected to the sustained fury of Manchester United supporters as Manchester City’s victory sparked a mutinous reaction at the final whistle.

With stewards deployed to prevent fans removing the 'Chosen One’ banner at the Stretford End – unveiled following David Moyes’s appointment as Ferguson’s hand-picked successor last summer – former manager Ferguson bore the brunt of anger from fans close to the directors’ box in the earshot of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and managing director Richard Arnold.

One supporter was also photographed being escorted away from the area close to Moyes’s seat in the dug-out by stewards after appearing to gesture for the Scot to resign.

Ferguson was berated with expletive-laden outbursts from supporters complaining at the state of the team left behind on his retirement as well as his decision to anoint Moyes as his replacement.

Moyes’s future is now likely to come under the microscope again, despite the ongoing position from the club that he will remain in charge to rebuild the squad this summer.

The shít has hit the fan.
