Didn't score a league goal against City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, Newcastle at home.

    Lost 4-0 to Liverpool aggregate.
    7-1 to City
    3-1 to Chelsea.

I think 6 losses at home in the league and maybe bottom at the table in the goal scored at home.

Very lucky man to be still in charge of ManUtd. Chelsea would have sacked him after just 1 or 2 months and rightly so.

Just amazing how one man has destroyed a club and a PL winning team

One man did not destroy the club. Last year Utd won because every other team was dreadful and Van Persi had an exceptional and injury free season. It painted over the cracks but that could not hide forever. I am not saying Moyes and the board have not some part of the blame they do. The were asleep in the transfer windows thinking we are Utd and people will want to come to us.

However is manager next season will have a monumental task do not think ye will have CL next season

He needs to be sacked immediately.

Give a new manager a free pass for the rest of the season. The manager we have has shown us nothing to suggest he is capable of doing the job so no reason to leave it till the Summer.

Sacked immediately? Nah, would be sad to be fair, sure ye wouldn't have fared much better had ye signed a better player or two across the 2 windows & slightly different setup.

Were just outclassed by a far better team who in reality, only Chelsea and to Liverpool could run close in their encounters.
People predicted ye would have a poor season, ye wouldn't believe it, come down off yer high horses, face the reality, he will turn ye around (or at least get more than enough time to prove it) and no amount of internet moaning is gonna change that

I can't wait for Christmas....for 2 reasons now...he'll surely be gone if this shambles continues until then.

The team isn't this bad. Plenty of flair in it.

If Moyes had any respect for Untied as a club, or the fans (nevermind himself, I couldn't give a sh1t about him) he would resign right now.

No excuses - he has proven himself unworthy and unable.

    Why would he.

£5 million ×5 years is all he's worried about!

He's not going anywhere guys. I think we're just going to have to accept it. Lets just all hope he does the necessary thing and gives the team a well needed clearout this summer.

Pure rubbish and gives a awful manager like Moyes an excuse

Fergie left the team in a very good state bar getting a CM, we were PL winning team. A team that never say die, a team that had confidence but now we are a shell of our former glory. Moyes has destroyed the confidence and team it self with his awful tactics and team selection for majority of games

starry eyed romanticised loyal to ferguson shíte really.

"Bar the CM"? Valencia is good enough, Young? Ferdinand, Vidic on the wane. Evra and nothing much else at LB. A hotheaded rash Rafael, and nothing else at RB. A disaffected Rooney. ALL of that and no midfield.

Take off the Fergie glasses for jaysis sake.

I'm not defending Moyes, I want him gone, but he is not totally to blame here.

    This is pure rubbish.

Fergie left plenty of skeletons in the closet for Moyes in terms of sub par players in the squad.

United have 3 world class players when they are on form.
    RVP, Rooney & Mata.

After that, they are a collection of has beens (Giggs, Evra, Rio) & also dans who were NEVER at the appropriate level to play week in week out for MUFC (Nani, Tony V, Cleverly etc)

The club is a laughing stock at this stage.

Their persistence with Moyes is truly mind boggling.

Moyes must know the game is up. There's no way back. It's a matter of time, but Jesus it is painful to watch with Utd shamefully stretching this out months more than it should have gone already, and perhaps a few moreo come.

I was in OT when we lost 4-1 to pool, 6-1 to city and many other defeats. I've always stayed til the end. I've watched bohs getting battered on a wintery evening in dalyer, ucd and inchicore.

Tonight I walked out of the pub in the 56th minute. Rafaels excuse of a cross, unmarked, was the final straw. An emptiness just came upon me, never felt more defeated. Granted I'm not feeling the best health wise but what came over me tonight I've never experienced before. It probably will pass tomorrow but wow.

You can't blame moyes for some of it. I see muppets commenting that its unfair to blame any player this season. BOLLOX. Look at Evra for example. But, in saying that, it's plain as day Moyes and his staff are the underlying issue and furthermore there is nothing to suggest improvement.

    Gutted. Empty. Tired... And Sad.

I can't remember the last time united lost 3-0 in Old Trafford....oh wait, it was 10 days ago.

6 more years though Bobby, right? **** off.

    City never left first gear.

Bayern's first gear will be way better, and I don't think they will be so lazy either...

sigh. I hate that excuse. Its just lazy at this stage and just shows you dont watch last seasons team which had a never die mentality and gave it there all even thou they didnt play great stuff. We were miles better last season than we are today and might I add we added a 27m hacker and a player that ozzes class but Moyes doesnt know what to do with him. The transfer window excuse is also a poor one at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,277 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Just put him out of his misery ffs.

Its gone way beyond embarrassing at this stage the board and who ever was involved in bringing Moyes to the club needs to admit they where wrong and just let him go.

Bring in someone whos proven whos up to a job of this level and let Moyes move on while he can.

This can only get worse not better. It is 100 percent unacceptable for a club as big as Manchester United to be finishing 7th place in the league without any sort of European football.

Any major job in the world never mind just football manager you would never be let bring the whole operation this far downhill without being put out. This isnt just a bad season its one of our worse ever. You dont just go from league winners to this someone for the good of the club needs to put this bollox to an end now and everyone can move on and go in the directions they should be.

If things where fair he would be gone by the end of May.

Start of the season, I predicted we'd finish 3rd at best. And you're right, some fans scoffed at that suggestion, but under the right manager this Utd team are easily capable of finishing in the top 4.

However much you might like to think, Utd are no where near as bad as Moyes has them performing. No where near. To suggest that they are is idiotic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

Any clearout this summer has to begin with the clown in charge of this whole mess. If we give this idiot 200 million and the backing of the board we are the laughing stock of Europe.

Jesus Cleverley really showed how out of his depth he is playing for United. He was absolutely dreadful in the first half. He needs to be shipped out and fast.

What can you say about that game? City are a superior team and we were outclassed. Full credit to them.

Actually thought he was decent tonight and linked well with Raphael first half

On what basis do you think he will turn it around. He has shown very little and has not inspired confidence in the players. Everyone knew it would be a bad season this season. If Liverpool dropped 24 points since last season they would be relegated. We won 89 points last year and we will do well to get 65 this year. He doesnt deserve another season.

The only thing you can blame Fergie for is choosing Moyes. This decline is the fault of one man's inability to manage a Premier League winning side.

Moyes really looked a beaten man tonight, he looked like our team plays limp and dejected.

What is? A clear out? Its a necessity if you ask me, regardless of who does it. Rio, Evra, Cleverley, Anderson to name a few have to go. There are far too many players at the club now that just aren't at the level required.

This is soul destroying, really how long can he be left there?

Yeap. Never at the required level to play for Man united. Funnily enough two of those players you mentioned actually won MAN UNITED PLAYER OF THE SEASON in the past few years. But yeap. Not talking out your arse thats for sure.

Fergie left a PL winning side. Moyes inherited a PL winning side

Moyes now has a midtable side.

    Do the math.

so what if fergie did - a competent manager and coaching staff could have seen that and reacted to it - moyes has done NOTHING. sat there and rolled out excuses that some have lapped up - oh the squad fergie left could never have done better than 7th and struggling, what else could moyes have done? Feck sake - useless manager. Everton looking to move 9 points clear of us - 9 points.

All allowing Moyes time does is further erode the repuation of the club, and our chances of getting back to the level we should be at. He is proving himself utterly incapable of doing the job required - we need to actually employ someone capable - not persist out of some stupid sense of 'specialness'.

Exactly - he has no respect for the club or the fans. If he did he woudl resign.

    Why would he.

Fergie offered him a six year contract. He's entitled to he's money.

If the club want rid they'll have to pay him off!

Club shouldn't have offered him such a massive contract.

I thought he looked scared sh*tless every time he got the ball, even when he was in acres of space he was looking to get rid of the ball.

Given that the team will be battered by Munich anyways, might as well leave Moyes there for it.
Leave the new man untarnished from any severe thrashings.

But I'd assume the manager search will be intensified from tomorrow. Van Gaal may be on he way in summer.
I'd say they'll go with a safe pair of hands this time.

Frank de Boer would be a younger option, but not a good choice for United
