Cooper says it saddens him having to watch Our Conor this season. God only knows how the horse feels!

Anyone else think Melodic Rendevous could be worth a speculative e/w bet at 25/1?
He seems to have slipped under the radar a bit.

I think he's that price for a reason (or 4).

I lost the run of myself after last years festival, I did the VCbet max for Our Conor and then before withdrawing my winnings I went in again on Our Conor, then Connell buys him and I find myself in one hell of a pickle.

Hurricane Fly has never been out of the first 3. Our Conor was all over him the last day in Leopardstown and wouldn't go past, HF winning going away for a finish. Between HF and TNO in my eyes, but going in heavy on HF. Looks bet of the week at 11/4.

I found myself thinking the same too. I think TNO and OC will finish in the top three but also thinking that Melodic Rendezvous could put it up to Hurricane Fly, MTOY and Jezki, all of which I'm happy to oppose. His only blip in the last couple of years was against MTOY when he wasn't right apparently. His form since would suggest that too. I know he wont have his preferred ground but will adore the hill. Worse ew bets at 25/1. John Francombe very keen on him.

Who was the last winner not to have a previous win that season?

Previous start or not to have won all season?

Hardy Eustace in his first year. He hadn't won a hurdle race that season but did win a flat maiden.

he did indeed. OC has been primed for this race all season.

I spent a couple of hours reading all your posts guys, very informative.
The only thing I don't understand is that there seems to be a split view how the race is going to be run and it won't suit some horses. Some claim that the champion hurdle is always run at a fast pace and this won't suit Hurricane Fly and some claim that there won't be enough pace to suit My Tent of Yours.

    So which is it then?

Betfair have HF at 5/1 for new customers lads. I'll be on this anyway, max 10 though.

Even then, he's still won two!

He wont necessarily mind fast but if its true run his goose would be cooked.

If the pace collapses and nothing takes it up he could work into it but if its true run he will be in serious heck.

Ground has gone against him as well.

If he wins tomorrow he's better than Istabraq.

My Tent Or Yours is a fantastic ew bet.

Jezki is gonna just lurve that ground :D

Just noticed that Captain Cee Bee has gone from 150/1 to 100/1 on PP, who out there would be backing this?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭carpothepunk

Would agree that Jezki is going to love that ground. Genuinely can see HF out of the places. TNO/OC/Jezki for the three. On OC very early doors, happy with my position on 8s.

    JP

I had a sneaky place bet at 38s. If they go a frentic gallop he could be passing walking horses and is worth a small interest at that level.

He beat Binocular on the other course on GS, albeit 25 years ago :D

Well, I'll know tomorrow whether I'll sleep in My Tent or Yours :)

It wasn't on the other course. It's over the same C&D, not that it matters....
