Barry's been fairly bullish about Jezki's chances in any of the preview nights he's done. Not a man to talk ****e either.

    Fantastic renewal though.

Not a man to talk ****e at all at all.

I wasn't on but congrats to those who were.

as ive said on another thread think Hurricane is still a great horse but cant see him back for a tilt at that 3rd Champion Hurdle. Will he be any better nxt year and with Mullins winning the Supreme also.

Barry Geraghty told me that Jezki can't be ruled out.

Also reckons it's a year early for Our Conor. I asked him if he could ride any of the other 3 and he couldn't pick one.

    So excited for this race!

This. Thank you very much Andy! That was enough info for a lucky novice like me ;-)

Edit: feel like a dick now. Didn't realise that about our Conor as I had to watch coverage on mute.

Winning betting aside this has put a real downer on the festival for me! Such a pity! a horse with such potential! Reckon he definately would have won a champion hurdle at sum stage

So disappointing we won't see Our Conor fulfill his promise, a real blow to racing and my heart goes out to connections and anyone who had been involved with the horse in the past.

It seems crass saying it in the circumstances, but its also disappointing to see Hurricane Fly so well beaten, but he just wasn't good enough.

It's a very strong division, that's for sure, and congrats to anyone who backed Jezki- a brilliant pick.

Where's Richie Lawlor & all those others who doubted Jezki? I got berated at Christmas for saying he'd win the Ryanair at Leopardstown, finally he got the ride he wanted & that was one hell of a performance.

    JEZKI IS THE CHAMPION HURDLER.

    That feels great to say.

I'm here. Best horse finished 3rd. Well done on your win though

On all form he was held.

Still dont think hes the best two mile hurdler.

    Good ride from Barry alright.

It's a joke that AP has gotten the ride on him all season to underwhelming effect only for the man who was 4 for 4 on him to make it 5 for 5. It makes an absolute farce of this no.1 jockey getting the choice of the best rides ****.

    Just watched the replay.

Not buying The New One was an unlucky loser, he had loads of time to get back into it and was well back in it and almost alongside MTOY coming to 3 out. Then he got badly outpaced and left for dead and stayed on again up the hill when the race was over.

Think he definitely wants a trip, should prove very hard to beat in the Aintree hurdle.

McCoy gave him 4 shockers this season, I wouldn't have backed him if McCoy was riding him today. Barry was brilliant on him in Punchestown & he was outstanding today again.

Well done man, while gloating about Christmas is great lets not forget he met no UDS, Annie Power, poor Our Conor died and badly hampered TNO.

That said you were totally right...

The New One had a mile and half to sort himself out, unlucky loser is laughable but coming from himself its about right.

He was just found wanting for a bit of toe when the pace quickened. Too slow for those good horses in front.

    Jezki Jezki Jezki = BOOM

    :D

I think he's right...people were taking the p*ss out of him for being so bullish. His point is regardless of OC.
Frankly thought jezki hadn't a hope myself but when you think how he hammered champagne fever in punchestown last season you'd think the spark was there it just needed to be found..

In fairness lads he was brought to an almost stand still from a fast pace so saying he had a mile to make up for the mistake is nonsense.
It's credit to the horse that he managed to get so close and even pass the fly on the run in.
The winner was given a supreme ride and I'm delighted for Barry as he is just an all around nice guy.

It's still a hard pill to swallow that we won't have a chance to witness Our Conor on the track again. But that's the game we play I guess. I'll drink a few pints in his honour tonight and that triumph victory of last year will live long in my memory.
Hopefully have a few dreams on what he could have been tonight.

How can anyone think Jezki can possibly win.

    Good lad

TNO was badly hampered but Sam was too cocky for me. He had the horse under him to close the gap but decided to wait until after the last.

Well done to the Jezki faithful, I wont knock people who stick to their convictions but luck played a part today.

Seems like not much got settled today.

Id still back MTOY to beat Jezki again tomorrow and it seems TNO backers feel the same.

Just a pity OC wont be around to show what he can do.

I presume we wont see HF at Cheltenham again.
