Gutted for you, you're a female aren't you? Was it the push/pull that got you?

Can anyone comment if the 6ft wall has a smooth face or if it has ridges to put your feet?

No times, the push/pull is as hard as you make it, it literally works with the force you put in.

It has ridges, it's fine to climb, it's just a wee wall...get over it lol

There are a couple of wooden slips to put your feet on. It's pretty easy so don't let it worry you. The individual obstacles aren't that difficult it's just making sure you don't make any mistakes and can pace yourself so you're not completely nackered for the push/pull

I was at the afternoon session yday and after a tedious wait managed to pass :)
Be ready for the dry air of the hall, it really takes the puff out of you.
Looking forward to getting the medical date now

    Well done!
Scary to think we all could potentially be in the same squad!!

They absolutely do make a difference, it's all to do with the way the cushioning/support is distributed in the sole unit of the shoe. You may well find your problem is resolved if you go and have gait analysis done and get proper running shoes that are right for your feet!

So I had a nice young lady who looked at my legs... She tried to be nice, but basically I ran like a clown. After the gait analysis that showed pronounced something I picked a pair of shoes. Tried the gait again at it showed a 23 percent improvement in my heel angle. So after all that I have not developed a shoe or foot fetish, but melted the plastic and got a pair of shoes. Will have to see if it makes any difference!

Proper shoes have definitely helped me.

It called PCA throat... Nothing quite like that iron taste at the back of your mouth.

I wondered what it was :) it is definitely not pleasant. CS gas is not much worse!

I'm sure you mean 'CS incapacitant spray'? We would NEVER use gas

Aye, the PCA is horrendous, if only for the after effects. Once you've done it a couple of times you'll learn to pace yourself, and that you don't get a gold star for being than everyone else. :p

Just a wee word of advice for people doing it: there was a total beast in my squad, could run faster for longer, and lift heavier weights than anyone else. He failed the PCA twice at GV. Partly because he had the balance of a drunken boiled egg, but also because he pushed too hard, got angry when he missed something, and then pushed harder. If you jog the whole way, pace yourself, you'll make it. Don't let desperation/anger/ego get the better of you.

Think its going to take a few days to get used to running straight. Half mile and my legs aren't mine - wierd painful sensation! But I am only trying to break them in. When I start running straight I might not fall off the balance beam!

Make sure you stretch before hand and then start off at a fairly lively walk for 5 mins first! (Just in case you aren't doing that)
