Tell him you have got a good price for some beech stems, would make a lovely hedge, offer to keep them topped? Bit of work on your part but better them him planting them feckers again.
Good idea Odelay but unfortunately he planted the pine trees on the North/East part of his yard for shelter. I was thinking of suggesting laurel plants as they are evergreen and make a nice hedge?

Laurel poisonous to cattle and other stock.

Know of a similar problem with someone who wanted to plant 'Palm trees' aka Laylandii ( hate those *eckers). Other party related a story they heard how they were very unlucky ... Result no 'palm trees' ...:-]

I never realised that laurel were poisonousness to livestock. Explains why ye only see it planted around houses. Although I have a few laurel trees growing within munching distance of cattle and horses.
I remember my grandfather telling me a story about ancient stone walled round graveyards and yew trees growing within.

That's why the native Irish never camp near a graveyard

It's a hard morning out there, horizontal rain, sleet and at times snow mainly from the North East with plenty of wind. Cold, miserable morning.

Hoping I can vaccinate and bolus the ewes tomorrow. Running out of time to do that job. Hard to know with the forecasts, tomorrow could be promised marginal and turn out crap or decent.
