I've been sitting patiently, waiting for a chance to pick a differential captain to catch people in my league.

I think that this is the week. Robin Van Persie.

He's leading in a few captain polls that I've seen (including the one here currently), I think Yaya or Lallana might be bigger differentials, Mata too at a stretch but I really don't like United right now

I'm usually not one for superstition and the likes....but for the love of God, could we ease up on the RVP 22 pointer this weekend thoughts this weekend please :p

Guilty of getting carried away myself earlier in the week, but am now positively bricking a poor week from him. :D

Is Suarez -> Van Persie crazy talk?

    Sturridge second striker

I'm probably the wrong guy to be asking because I've already done that move(ish)...

I had Sturridge, RVP and Ade up front last weekend. Worked well but I've stocked up on extra jocks for the rest of the season.

It's not for the faint hearted but I needed differentials and at the time I did it, Aguero was fit... And I was willing to back RVP + Sturridge over Suarez + Aguero. Same total price but a big differential at the time.

The main thinking was that I really thought that Aguero, who potentially could miss GW 29 as well as missing 28, may well have been rested either sides of Barca and Cup Final.
Sturridge is out scoring Suarez since his return.

Aguero getting injured suppered my plans, think a lot of people are managing to get Suarez & RVP which makes it less nerve racking but way less of a differential.
If I could have known about the Aguero injury I would have worked towards RVP, Sturridge & Suarez... can't do that now without serious disruption.

To answer your question, it all depends if you need to take the risk (overall position and goal)
Your scenario involved you spending an extra 2mill(?) on the move.... what does that mean to the rest of the team? I wouldn't opt for it unless you are sure a downgrade elsewhere isn't costly

I'm 51 points off where I'd like to be, so with 12 weeks left, feel a gamble is probably required.

Id' be losing Benteke and Suarez and going for Van Persie and Sturridge. Would cost me 1.9 which would otherwise be in midfield. That means Barkely (eg) instead of Ramsey/Mirallas eg

Thoughts. I have a few ideas myself but I'd like to hear what others have to say first.

Thoughts on taking a 4 point hit to do Koscielny to Terry and Adebayor to Benteke? Need to make up a few points

Unless ade is injured I certainly wouldnt take a 4 pt hit to switch him to benteke.

I initially was going to do Ade to Dzeko but figure I need a differential to make up ground. Maybe Benteke was a moment of madness though!

Thats one option, which is nice and safe :D

What about getting in RVP instead of Adebayor & downgrading either Coleman or Mertesacker for the a 4 point hit?

Possibly Id take out mert if you are going down that route they have tough fixtures whereas everton have 3 nice home games in the next 6. You could get back on kos for a cheaper price for the same returns some time in the future. Im assuming you would want to capt RVP. RVP needs a double digit score to make it worthwhile I reckon.

Mert was my choice alright given that I held onto Coleman through injury. Arsenal's mounting injury problems has me lacking confidence in their defence to keep clean sheets and results in general.

RVP could be a goal a game striker for the rest of the season barring injury.

Looking to use my remaining FT to upgrade Chester. Have the Aguero money burning a hole in my pocket. I'm guessing I won't be bringing him back in until after GW28 so won't need the cash until then. At that time I'll require two transfers to get him back in.

So I'm after a Chelsea defender. I was thinking of Terry because he seems to be a bonus point hoover. Is there a case for any of the other back four?

Azpil looks the best value, also due to go up tonight if team value is a consideration.

Thats true about rvp however as you already have mata its a lot of faith(over 20% of your budget) to put in a team that has yet to show any sort of attacking form. Even with rvp and mata in the team Utd only scored 3 goals in two games against stoke and cardiff. In fairness against fulham is the most likely time for that to change.

Cahill's on fire at the moment. 2 assists recently, hit the post against City.

Right, have settled on Ianovich in for Chambers.

Chelsea have been very solid this last few games and seem to be gelling as a team. Ianovich was picked as he is a slight differential over Cahill and Terry and I have a pleasant history with him in my team.

I also have Alpi so am doubling up on Chelsea defenders. That's confidence for ya!

Dont forget Rooney & Fellaini. As United get back to full strength & match fit I think performances will improve. Even against Stoke, Mata & RVP came out well. Consistent point scorers is what I want, they might not go nuts a la Suarez but if they keep scoring regularly I'd be very happy and I think they can so its a difficult decision this week, potential season changer.

At least with money tied up in RVP, I could go straight back to Aguero if I felt he wasnt consistent as expected.

Hmm! Azpil was my very first thought but as it's a short term option only, I wanted the best returns possible and I was thinking that one of their centre backs might be a good choice.

I think Cahill is the best differential. Only 8% ownership compared to 18% and 13% for Terry and Ivanovich.

    Might go with Cahill.

Would love to get Johnson in. Instead I have doubled up on S'hamton defence(who knows why)

Think swapping Koscielney for Mert is shrewd. Always going to be similar but Kos is cheaper and performed better lately. Plus Mert is so mainstream

Thoughts on Eto'o for a few weeks while Torres is out? Chelsea home to Newcastle this week; can't afford Adebayor to RVP

Took my first 4pt hit of 2014! Had only 10 players play last week so needed to move the deadwood.

I'm trying to figure out a way of shifting my non players (Gnabry, Bruce, Whitakker) with 3m in the bank. I also have Manonne who needs to go next week, and I need to make sure I'm not short in GW 29 (I've Mata, Yaya, and Colback).

I'd love to upgrade Gnabry to Erikson but I just can't afford him.
If I bank this weeks transfer, I can go
    Manonne to Adrian
    and
    Gnabry to Erikson

I'm tempted to pull the trigger and do it this week but:
    Manonne has Hull at home
Can't see Erikson getting points against Everton.

    Am I missing something folks?

    Need help!!

    Current Team

    Boruc
    Mannone

    --Williamson--Gabbidon--Olsson--Coleman--Terry--

    --Sterling--Lallana--Hazard--Yaya Touré--Januzaj-

    Adebayor
    Suárez
    Giroud

Immediate plans for this weekend GW...

Adebayor to Sturridge, leaving me 3.0m in the bank.

Next plans, more than likely next GW Tuesday Night to avoid hits...

Januzaj to a yet unknown player, although based on current rises/falls predictions that bank will only be worth 2.9.

Ideally would like to have another City player, possibly even getting Ageuro back, and a different Utd player, in time for their possible DGW, the same time keeping Chelsea and Arsenal cover.

    Ideas please.

    :)

Any1 know what the story is with Ravel Morrison? seems to be out of favour but if he played would be a nice cheapie to pick up a few points ...especially with Westhams upcoming fixtures....

Rvp will get no more than 70 mins and possibly quite a bit less given United have arsenal midweek

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,670 ✭✭✭skippy15

I think RVP will play the full game, united cannot afford any chance of a slip against Fulham. I think even at 2 up he wont take him off as no oin form cover

Was debating whether to get RVP in for a 4 point hit and make him captain, decided to go with the risk as I think will be more upset if I didnt take the risk. Nearly any hit I have taken to date has paid off, and could be the differential to get me into the top 10k

In the aftermath of Monday's game, I thought I saw someone tweet Pellegrini saying Negredo's still not fully fit but I can't find anything now. Don't want to go without a City forward for the next few games. Anyone know anything?
