Bit of a long shot but there is nothing limiting maximum cpu usage in the power options?

Have you tried different browsers. If you could get a usb key and install a linux distribution on it, then boot up from that, this would prove out your hardware if the streaming works fine. Maybe the best thing would be to do a fresh install win 7.

It could be bitdefender, a quick google reveals streaming problems.

Installed bit Defender to try fix the issue. So it's before bitDefender showed up

Can't really fresh install as she has loads of old **** on that laptop and licensed programs etc. Tried the Ping test for hardware and seemed okay.

I'm baffled, and I hope someone can help. I'm fairly tech my not great but built my PC and can generally fix most silly pc issues! I know this is PC building, but I'm active on here, so I'll put this here amongst the brain trust!

My girlfriends laptop craps out when streaming. YouTube, netflix, BBC, you name it! Just goes as slow as all hell and craps out. I've pinged YouTube with CMD and no issues, she has bitdefender on there, and has no issues with viruses, malware etc. I've cleared caches, temp files, updated drivers etc, but nothing! Silverlight and Java, same problem. laptop is on Win 7 Home premium and is only 3 years old. Ideas anyone?

Some time ago I had problems streaming YouTube videos out of the blue. Virus scanned and examined Task Manager for rouge programs etc. Nothing worked, so eventually I did a system restore and it worked. Haven't had an issue with streaming since. It wont delete any files, so you have nothing to loose trying it. Just make sure you restore to a time before any issues. Good luck.

    works like a charm

try launching cmd as admin and use
    ipconfig /flushdns

    see if that helps

I had the EXACT same issue with this monitor. Unfortunately older revisions of this monitor are notorious for backlight bleed and it's not well documented anywhere the best revision to go for. IMO, they older revisions should have all been recalled full stop, but Amazon seem to have quite a lot of the older revisions with all the problems.

The entire bottom left quarter of my monitor had extremely bad yellow bleed, so it went back to Amazon. In fairness, they were fantastic. I dropped it into the post office just before 4pm on a Friday afternoon, and the refund authorization was sitting in my inbox before 9am the next day.

I decided to give 1440p a miss for a while, and invested in Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X instead along with a lovely new PSU.

My mech keyboard arrived today, this one for anyone that missed my earlier post.

I've only been using it for about 15 mins and I'm already getting accustomed to it. Much more comfortable to use than the old domed one and finding the clicks oddly therapeutic.

I'll upload a couple pics in the pictures thread if anyone wants a gawk!

EDIT: Meant to say, I was surprised by the weight of it. It's got a very sturdy, well-made feel to it. Might sound small but was very reassuring taking it out of the box for the first time. :)

I actually seen that picture and that's what has me worried by how low down on it sapphire is.
I always presumed sapphire would have a good rma/customer service until I seen this.

Absolute pain to try and get it to work with Windows 7. Tried it a few times. Think I nearly had it the last time as there were so many people trying to get it working. Haven't looked around for any updates recently. The older solutions won't work unless you use XP. Let me know if you try it and have success.
