Absolute pain to try and get it to work with Windows 7. Tried it a few times. Think I nearly had it the last time as there were so many people trying to get it working. Haven't looked around for any updates recently. The older solutions won't work unless you use XP. Let me know if you try it and have success.

GeForce GTX TITAN Black Edition and GeForce GTX 790 (10GB VRAM)

also GTX 750ti coming out February, 15% slower than 660. Don't really see the point. Price/performance equals to 650 ti boost.

I'm baffled, and I hope someone can help. I'm fairly tech my not great but built my PC and can generally fix most silly pc issues! I know this is PC building, but I'm active on here, so I'll put this here amongst the brain trust!

My girlfriends laptop craps out when streaming. YouTube, netflix, BBC, you name it! Just goes as slow as all hell and craps out. I've pinged YouTube with CMD and no issues, she has bitdefender on there, and has no issues with viruses, malware etc. I've cleared caches, temp files, updated drivers etc, but nothing! Silverlight and Java, same problem. laptop is on Win 7 Home premium and is only 3 years old. Ideas anyone?
I have this problem on my laptop as well, but it happens when I watch video of any kind not just when streaming. I tried a fresh install of windows and that didn't help. Decided to try ubuntu and everything works fine when using it except that some websites won't load. Would really like to figure out what's causing this.

Wasn't there a plan to launch 8 series this year? With these cards out, there is no way there will be 8 series. Nvidia is beomng nvidia with pricing again. Soon we will be paying for high end GPUs 2k EU...
I happy that and doing well now, but it does not help to drop prices for us. Hopefully there will be something worth picking up late march/early April for my birthday.

Don't see why this would affect the 8 series necessarily, the purpose of these two card is probably to try and offload remaining stocks of high end Kepler GPUS to those with too way much cash :P, whom might otherwise hold out for Maxwell to launch.

Question for anyone running a wireless signal from a UPC Horizon box, what sort of speeds are you getting?

I have a feeling the current dongle being used is holding it back, so I was also wondering what wireless dongles everyone is using as well. Thanks!

We have 200Mb. Within about twenty feet of the box I get around 90Mb on my laptop. Then around 30 feet away I get around 40Mb.

The computer is less than 20 feet away. The dongle is the Netgear N300 if that is any help.

What package have you got, and what speeds are you getting?

We have 200mb from UPC. On the parents computerr with that dongle we get about 40mbs on the speed test.

On my computer upstairs using ethernet cables I get 120-170 depending on the time of day.

    On my Macbook it's a solid ~80mbs.

Sorry, forgot the link when I mentioned it earlier.

    Here's the page,

Should be getting decent speeds with that. Maybe look into a TP Link one. Most of theirs come with antennas. The only I'm using on the family's PC has one, and that's getting ~40Mb at 30 feet, through a bunch of walls.

It's worth mentioning though that the Horizon box in general has horrible WiFi capability.

Duly noted. I'll see if one of those TP Link one is an option!

    Thanks for the help.

Does anyone here have a Sharkoon Drakonia mouse?

Can anyone get the configuration software to work on it?
It won't let me change what any of the buttons do. I have some of them set to "Disable" but they still work with the default settings.

There's two under my thumb that do the "forward" and "back" functions in internet browsers and I constantly lose posts from clicking them by accident.

We have 100Mb and get about 50Mb maximum. I mean if I am really pushing my connection I can reach half of my package speed. Fecking joke. I'll be ringing them soon for a router.

I have the Terra-byte and 500 GB version of this drive. Over all I think they are good drives. I don't plug them directly into the TV, but I believe your problem is power related, as my drives are very particular about what USB port they are plugged into. My case has the USB ports on the front. They are doubled up USB 2 ports, so I get four ports connected to two USB headers on the motherboard. If I plug my drives into the same bank of USB ports I get clicking, and the computer will fail to recognise them. However, if I plug them in, one into each USB deck, they will work. For some reason the bottom port on the USB decks are the only ports I get good transfer speeds. Also, if I charge my phone on my PC over USB whilst one drive is plugged in it can cause the drive to click and not respond. I guess USB 2 was never designed to power portable hard drives. If any of this makes sense, I would advise you to experiment with all the available USB ports on your TV, and try plugging out unnecessary hardware.

Finally got around to formatting my HDD using the Verbatim FAT32 Format tool, handy lil' program so it is.

Still won't power on in the USB 2.0 slots on the front of my case. Gonna bring it over to my girlfriends house later and see if there's any difference with her TV. So strange that it just decided to stop working with her TV..

Would it be worth it to upgrade to a 770? This has been on adverts a while, so I'm hoping he'll want to get rid of 1 soon. Going to upgrade to 1440p in the coming year, and was going to get an r9 280x, but would this be worth it at a good price?

    ****
No way to cancel is there besides ringing them up? I'd be happy to change it, it's only ram haha

Usually when you order, they allocate you one. It'll still take 2 days or so for your money to get through, so it could be in stock by then anyway.

    I'd really be going for a R9 290 for 1440P.

Thanks guys, hopefully anyway. We will see

I'm likely to have my graphics card and PSU on Monday so would be nice to get everything else by the end of next week to give it a go on the weekend :pac:.

To me, paying an extra €150 wouldn't be worth going from, say, high to ultra. Am I stupid to think so

Are you using wireless? its crazy to blame upc on not getting max 100mb from wireless.
Test it with a lan cable and see what speeds you get. If you are getting close to 100mb upc will just fob you off and rightly so in my opinion.
It is all down to the quality of wireless card you use and one in there router.
They just get you 100mb to your house, its up to you if you want to spring for a high end router to get 100mb through wireless.
(If your using a wire ignore all this :D :P )

It is. But at the same time the WiFi built in to the horizon box is pretty awful. The range is terrible, it drops the connection randomly and often. And, for some reason, they have disabled the 5ghz support which could help close range speeds quite a bit.

Its the reason I haven't upgraded to the horizon box and have stuck with the cisco option as the range is slightly better (well that and having more features like vpn).
If you want decent wireless speeds you really need to be spending 100+ on a high end router as otherwise 9 times out of 10 your not going to be happy.
