Look whos doing the rounds on youtube! good ol tallon!

That roundabout is a disaster! Its not big enough to function properly as a roundabout and causes massive confusion.

Yer man in the range rover looked like a guard.

Would I be right in thinking that if I imported a UK 08 reg (1st half 2008) car it'd be taxed based on CC's rather than emissions?

It will be taxed on whichever rate is cheapest.

Cool, thanks. What I'm looking at would be twice the price on the CO2 rate.

I remember checking this before and the tax office advised that all '08 imports are taxed on emissions, not on CC - regardless of which is cheaper.

This is because the "choice" was a one time option back in '08 and cannot be availed of any more.

Yeah it's emission only now if I remember correctly. Stick the car into the VRT calculator and it will tell you for sure.

    Ah sh!te! Sorry Dord!

The option must have only been for new cars in 2008 if that's the case :(

    Yeah I think so.
I remember seeing a mazda RX8 from the first half of 2008 on the emissions tax rate. Shocking. >€2.2k in annual motor tax, and it could be a few hundred if it were a few months earlier.

Another ****ty wet day out there. Hopefully it might wash away some of the salt that the CC have caked the roads in.

:( Not so bad because the model I'm interested in was available from 2007, but less choice certainly.

Just saw a Fiat 500L Trekking. Kill it with fire sort of stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,140 ✭✭✭Cleveland Hot Pocket

They are doing to the fiat 500 what BMW did to Mini.
Just put the badge on anything because the badge sells cars.

I mean what did the original fiat 500 bubble car have to do with a 5 door hatch like the 500L?

Check out the fiat 600 multipla or the fiat 500 giardiniera

Niche cars made on an existing platform because the company has no money.

I've gotten the car washed at that place on Churchtown road a few times, used to be a Shell Garage but it's wash and valet one side snd car sales on the other. Can't comment on the valet but the hand wash is very good. ;)
