Here's what Ulrik Nylund, number two in the FFS hall of fame, came up with in his:

He went for Silva over Yaya as I would and went with Lallana from Cabaye/Lallana/Eriksen with Ade up top.

I'm going to activate it after todays matches and work from there.

What's happening with Mannone. Is he in danger of losing his place to a new signing? Who could I bring in instead of him for a similar price to work with Marshall? Or is there a different cheap keeper partnership I could use?

Mannone will keep his place IMO. He's been one of our best players and Poyet has specifically said he wants to bring in ''backup''.

Mannone/Marshall seems to be the cheapest combination and will give you home games until week 36 IIRC.

It's not just the big sides signing players you need to worry about though. There can often be great value in say a player that has dropped in value making a sideways move e.g. Pienaar going from Spurs to Everton two years ago, Sturridge from Chelsea to Liverpool last year.

Or players coming into mid table teams e.g. The effect Siggy, Cisse and Jelavic had two years ago. Coutinho last year.

I'm already keeping an eye on Jelavic at Hull after that move last night.

Yeah but for what I remember Cissé and Jelavic wre not immediate must-haves. So having played WC early was not an issue.

I wouldn't think so, and I wouldn't expect him to simply pick up where he left off. City face Spurs and Chelsea after next week, I'll probably hold off until after these games tbh. I have the cash in the bank waiting to get him in but this could just as easily be used elsewhere.

Yeah. I considered that. But with my midfield of Yaya-Ozil-Hazard-Lallana (got Hazard at £10.1m and Lallana this week) I don't have much flexibility to get Aguero back (I would have needed him to drop at least £0.3m more). So if his price shoots up I'll have to get him in or I just won't be able to. What kind of reassures me is a player of his quality can score against anyone.

As much as I disliked ditching Terry now, it was the sensible move for my mid to long term plan (watch him score today now :D ). Keeping a transfer for later when you play the WC makes no sense. I may lose £0.1m on my benefit from Terry but I have more flexibility with Azpi.

I just posted this on another thread.

I'll see who does well today and might ship Rooney out. I actually think I have enough in the bank to go Rooney to Aguero straight swap.

This article looks hopeful re him:

Pellegrini said: "Aguero continues working and maybe next week he can be fit".

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/sergio-aguero-nearing-return-from-injury-for-manchester-city-9051941.html

And BBC ran one saying he was training four days ago. That means he was back training the 6th of January so he only missed about 3 weeks. He was injured 14th December.

City have alot of fixture congestion now and will be eager to have him back on song for Barca.

Re Spurs and Chelsea. He has scored against both already and is fixture proof IMO.

Yeah City's fixtures congestion worries me. Plenty opportunities for rotations, injuries. But they are the on form PL team so you just can't avoid their players. Hopefully Aguero will come back fully fit and won't be rushed back in. The worse case scenario would see his coming back announced early in a given GW, his price shooting up and him getting a 20 min cameo 1 pointer.

I have the same 4 in midfield and have £3.4m behind for Kun. I agree about Aguero though, he can score against any team but is unlikely to score more than one at Spurs or Chelsea, which is why I plan on waiting until after these games. However, if he looks set to start against Cardiff where he could go nuts I'll have to consider getting him in... flexibility is the key! I'm hoping I can hold off on him until he has easier fixtures. Ideal scenario would be him coming back for Chelsea game, but this not being announced until late in the GW (preferably the morning of the match!)

With £3.4m can you get him in as a direct swap ?

I have £3.9m in the bank for Aguero (gained an extra £1m by doing Terry-> Azpi) and can't do my original direct swap (Ade -> Aguero, previously Roo -> Ag) but have enough for Lukaku -> Aguero.

With my recent moves the idela scenario for me would be him being 100% fit to face Cardiff and running riot against them. Though if he was to come back later than expected with maybe another price drop (let's dream) that'd suit me too.

Can't see him getting another drop at this stage, his transfers out have slowed right down.

McGregor and Speroni are 0.1 cheaper (9 v 9.1) and rotate 38/38 GW's so every remaining week.

    Hull's next 8 are:

    Norwich (A)
    Crystal Palace (A)
    Tottenham (H)
    Sunderland (A)
    Southampton (H)
    Cardiff City (A)
    Newcastle (H)
    West Ham (A)

Jelavic definitely on the radar now.

Not sure bout gnabry though, is he getting a game?

He won't be playing in my team. If my first 7 aren't available I'll be going 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or making a transfer. He will see some football though with Theo out.

Yeah but if you get two of them then you can't get Chester and Ward without doubling up on Palace and Hull defence. So it would end up costing more overall since you'd be spending an extra .3 or .4 on defenders.

Hulls fixtures are not attractive for rotation purposes though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,875 ✭✭✭✭8-10

Yes I get that, just pointing out that it's not the cheapest combination of rotation pairs, not suggesting the best options or anything!

Would it be a good idea to get in a few players that I don't want but who are rising in price for the week before finalising my team next friday?

If you're on WC yes ! But don't forget you'll need them to rise twice to make a £0.1m profit out of them ;).

It all depends when you got them in though. Marshall-Mannone was worth £8.9m to me and at the start of their great rotation, as pointed out by Hogey007, they were worth £8.7m (GW 17 or 18 IIRC).

Same for the last few years I think, handy to hold onto the main one until the usual double gameweeks towards the end if you can, I used my gameweek 9 due to a bad start this year.

Didn`t know that, but now I do, cheers. :pac:

Has that changed since last year?

Thinking of playing it tonight, what yee think of this lads?
    Mannone
    Gibbs Zab Coleman
    Eriksen Ozil Yaya Hazard
    Aguero Adebayor Suarez
Bench: Davis, Chester, Baker and Pennant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,790 ✭✭✭Benimar

On 26 from 6 players. My pre-wildcard team would have been on 34

Miralles and Fonte got 4 points between them in the last 2 GWs. I sold them last night after having them all season, they get 19 points between them today..just can't get a decision right this season

Players I want to bring in are:

    Boruc
    Kelvin Davis
    Ward
    Azpilicueta
    Lallana
    Aguero

Spent the last hour looking at WC after both the Lallana and Eriksen shows today
Started to panic a bit and then saw TotalFPL and saw all that are due to rise tonight
But I think I'll hold off on the WC
I'll have 0.5 to spare with the team I want. Ward will go up tonight so that'll leave me with 0.4
Lallana will go up 0.2 this week so that'll leave me with 0.2

I think i'll hold off. If I can't get Lallana at the end of the day then so be it. I'll stick with
    Cabaye

because he has started the last 7 or 8 and mourinho seems to prefer him over a cole and ivanovic is currently injured. This may change in time as cole is getting a run in the team now to play his way back into mourinhos plans. When Ivanovic is back fit who knows what will happen.

He's a cheap way into Chelsea defence. I sold Terry weeks ago and can't afford him in my ideal WC team. Chelsea keeping clean sheets now.

He also used to go a lot forward when playing for Marseille. Don't know how Mourinho makes him play though...

Despite Bony not scoring today, I think he played relatively well all things considered.

I wouldn't rule him out for my wildcard.

Will be v interesting to see if Jelavic starts with a bang at Hull ....if he does he could be a great third striker as he will play every week in an inform team.

Im not so sure about hull they have had a lot of the easier home games so far and havent been overly impressive away from home. I think there will be a lot better 3rd striker options available or if you were to play 3 5 2 the likes of cabaye, ramsey, eriksen, llallana will probably outscore him.
