I didn't check this morning so I don't know if it's still an issue.

Heres hoping it's back for the toy show tonight.

its a new ecm type being sent by s*y to try prevent cs

Yeah, same here, I've lost RTE1 on all my boxes, both Alien1 and Alien2 running Hyperion and an Amiko HD Mini. Scrambled is not coming up, there is nothing to clear, the channel is blank. Can someone with a valid Sky Box confirm their RTE1 works

Edit: it's a new ECM, my provider has it sorted

Can you explain why the same thing is happening on saorview then?

When you say sorted do you mean you have it back or your provider has identified what needs to be done ?

I'm taking my signal from Clermont Carn in the Cooley mountains and don't have a problem with RTE on Saorview.

RTE1 on Saorview now comes from a different Mux than RTE2, you need to rescan the new second Mux

    It's back, they fixed it

Hi I have a mains powered 3tb external hard drive formatted to ntfs, will the Amiko box pick up a 3tb drive ? . Haven't got the Amiko box yet, but it will be running enigma

And when using the Amiko as an media player, am I correct in saying, one can use xbmc

And any issues playing 3d movies?

E4 & E4+1 have been acting up for me the past few days - stopping & starting every few minutes.

AFAIK Channel 5 and More 4 HD changed PIDs in the last few days
Autobouquets should have seen it or rescan
    12324 V 29500 3/4 for More4 HD
    11798 H 29500 3/4 for CH5 HD

    See KingofSat for more details

Channel 5 HD and More 4 HD changed frequency a few days ago. You'll have to go to kingofsats and retune

What are the recording options now that RTEs have been split across 2 muxes; when recording RTE1, you cannot access RTE2/TV3/TG4 etc as the one DVB-T tuner is occupied. Likewise when recording something from RTE2... you cannot watch RTE1.

I'm already facing almost daily calls to get rid of this and get something else which works better. Having missed the toyshow due to the RTE1 moving mux lark, I'm really up against this, and losing chanels "randomly" isn't helping.....
    Cheers

None of the approved Saorview terrestrial boxes do it either, other than the official PVR which has 2 terrestrial tuners

All FTA satellite boxes lose channels when Sky change the frequency, the official Saorview combo boxes do the same. With this box you won't lose channels if you setup Autobouquets plugin to run every week to get the channels in the same order as Sky and fix the frequency changes. This will not fix channels in your own bouquets like favourites, only the Sky ones

    That was my fear.
What i might do as a possible appeasement is get the cheapest possible saorview box i can find and use it in the odd occasion someone, for some bizarre reason would actually want to record something from one of the irish channels and watch a different one!

Or if the tv is saorview compatible just split the feed.

It's not, it has a dtv tuner, but doesn't pick up anything even using the aerial im using for the amiko. Samsung le37r88bd

Lots of us have RTEs from satellite working on ours so it doesn't bother us as much, can't discuss that here though

I wonder could a USB DVB-T Tuner be added in the same way as people need to add them to satellite tuner only equipped Dreamboxes ?

just thinking about this more... so basically anyone with a saorview approved box, who used be able to watch rte1and record rte2 fine until a few days or weeks ago, can't any more? surely that can't be true?

Yes, it is. Same goes for UK Freeview though, they have several muxes. We just got lucky that it all our Saorview fitted on a single mux, the plan was always at least 2 muxes

    100% spot on :(

Luckily, most will have a DVB-T tuner in their TV which gets around the problem

Is there an settings menu or explanation to the media player on the blue panel, mine blacks out too quickly, as in needs a key press to wake again.

    Thanks in advance

Presumably we can legally discuss saorsat though?

Has anyone with an Amiko Alien got it setup for Astra for FreeSat and Eutel9 for saorsat ? That would leave TV3 with a dedicated DTT aerial if it was ever needed, whilst allowing the other 2 tuners to be used for all Sat stations.

I wasn't referring to Saorsat, i was referring to cardsharing the Sky versions which we can't talk about here. Saorsat is possible but would most likely require a seperate dish (unless you already have an 80cm+), lnb and diseqc switch which is a lot of extra expense.

yeah I knew what you meant. new dish, lnb and 1 or even 2xdiseqs might still be not much more than a saorview box, and probably a better experience.
