Bit of new info on this whole xtravision debacle - http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1r8ene/a_warning_to_irish_xbox_one_ps4_buyers_rant/cdkssjs

Don't know how likely this actually is to be true though.

Contact Sony lads. Do not waste your time with the suits in XV. SCE ie(Sony Computer Entertainment ,Ireland) know that the Paddys are very loyal to their products and will not let XV mess with their customers .

    Right lads.

After some research ,here's the best I can do...for now.

    " Postal Contact:

    Consumer Services
    Sony Computer Entertainment Ireland
    Segrave House
    20 Earlsfort Terrace
    Dublin 2

    Email:

You can contact us by email at - support@ie.playstation.com

    .....

Does anyone want to word an email that we can all send to Sony. Don't want to come off all preachy to Sony either. I paid for a product and hope to receive what I paid for, we just want to be treated fairly as customers. The staff in Xtra-Vision are only be following orders and it's not fair on them either, it's the greed at management level that looks to be causing all the hassle. I would have ordered mine at GameStop or Amazon if I had known that this was going to happen, I was also under the assumption that I would be offered a bundle closer to the release date like all the other retailers who offer pre-booking, but that's not the case in Xtra-Vision.

A company with as many daily transactions as Xtra-Vision and they all add up. I'd imagine it's a lot of pennies over the course of a year.

That's what I was thinking. It's a clever but horrible way to do business IMO. They know that most people won't kick up a fuss over a cent. Tbh it turned me against the place.

Well it looks like 1c and 2c coins won't be in circulation by the end of next year anyway. All 5c prices rounds up or down.

I'm aware of that but currently xtra vision is the only place where this has happened to me. IMO they still have the ability to give the correct change so they should be doing so.

They'd be very foolish to continue with it. It not going to bode well for them if they do.

Tbh in my experience it's not the only bad policy XV have introduced. As I already mentioned they won't give you a Sim card unless you purchase top up off them.

Another thing I noticed about Xtra Vision is that if your owed a cent in change you won't be given it. So if you buy a game for €49.99 and hand over €50 you won't get your cent back. Even on the receipt it will say Balance due €49.99, Cash €50.00, Change given €0.00

I know it only a cent but imo it's just plain wrong not to be given the change you are owed IMO.

Funnily enough, it never really occurred to me but XV in Tramore had been doing that "owe you a penny" thing for a long time (the store is closed now) but it happened so often that it must have been company policy,

I haven't bought anything from them in a while, so I'm not sure if they are still at it, but gamestop used to do exactly the same thing.

You must have been the guy who rang as I was at the desk, the girl there said 'this is the last one' as she picked up the phone. They had a massive binder full of receipts and names etc. Bloody exciting!

Anyway, thanks to all the boardies for keeping us up to speed, never would have got one without you, you've made Christmas for me, delighted.

If you're still missing out, I'd say tesco extras on launch morning are your best bet. I went to the Xbox One launch at Tesco Clearwater in Dublin as a 'scout mission' for the PS4 launch. It was pretty damn disorganised. They open at six, I believe. I got there just after 6am and there was just a crowd of about 8-10 people standing around. No queue, no numbers.

A guy came out and said they had 6 xboxs. 2 people left (I guess they knew they were numbers 7 and 8). Then they checked the back and there were only 4. Two people not best pleased. Smacked of staff putting two aside, but literally noone there (nice as they were) had any idea about the xbox.

They couldn't sell them until 8am, but ending up letting them go at 7.40 as what was the point in waiting any longer, the queue was done. They were black Day One editions, too.

I asked the guy about PS4 stock and he said they just wouldn't know, and you couldn't trust what you were told as their supply could change hourly, as they weren't regular Tesco suppliers.

My plan was to get there at 5am, and if I was one of the first 10 people there to wait it out and hope I got lucky. An honest guess is that they'll get 6-10 PS4s, though it might be more.

I'm still going to go, but at 6.30 now, and see if I can't get a Killzone bundle. Anyway, I think this might be your best bet if you've missed the BT chance and you're willing to get up early.

    Good luck, and thanks all!

I don't know about the Cork shop, but in Dublin they have a 'Marvel room' that sells their recommended christmas gifts, mostly bags and stationary and stuff like that. That's where they were handling the PS4, as it falls under the Christmas gift catagory. There's no audio-visual or electronics section in the Dublin BT.

Cork might be the same. Can't say for sure.
