You'd have to still do SLI to improve. I think a single 780ti is maybe slightly faster than SLI 670's. Anything in particular not good enough with your current setup? Curious cause I have 1440 with same gpus. Haven't jumped to the latest / most demanding games yet myself.

imo 670 SLI should be plenty atm, the only limiting factor could be the 2GB VRAM at such high resolution. Unless you are crazy about maxing out AA and other non essential stuff for 1440p.

Ya, you should be grand. There's enough power there to overcome the slight disadvantages of SLI, 2GB VRAM and less power vs a 780ti (which will clock to 1200 no bother.

In short, a 780 clocked to ~1200 will probably be more powerful, and draw less power and won't run into VRAM limitations. Having said all that, it's probably not enough to justify an upgrade at this time - unless you have cash to burn and want to do so I suppose.

    From what I've seen, in realistic gaming situations 780 < Titan < 690 < SLI 680's < 780 ti. That would include 1440p but not 4k.

It's pretty close between those last few, but it seems consistent. 670 is only slightly behind 680. You can add overclocking, but all these cards will overclock so not sure it really changes the relative strengths.

My brother wanted to have a projector connected to a media pc. He also has a sky box.
So he was looking at a box (can't remember what it was called) that takes the video feed from a sky box, the media pc and a surround sound system and allows you to have them all available on the projector screen and you can switch between them at the touch of a button.

Anyone have any experience with that sort of thing? He said that the "hub" box isn't available anymore. Is there a way to do the whole lot through one media pc?

Looking to upgrade some of my specs over Christmas.

Going to get an SSD which I have picked but my motherboard is currently AM3+ and I'm using a 965 BE edition on it, is it worth upgrading to an 8350? Also I'm running an XFX 6870 as my GPU and want to change it also, can only really upgrade one, which should I go for?

    Bump :)

Don't projectors usually have multiple input connections like TV's? You could just plug all the sources (sky box, media pc, etc) into the projector and switch between them with the projector remote.

If the surround system includes a proper A/V receiver, you could also hook all the sources to the receiver and connect the receiver video out to the projector. Then you'd switch sources with the receiver remote.

    Bump :)

Steamroller should be released around Christmas time, will support AM3+ socket.
If you can't wait that long, 6300, 6350, 8320 and 8350 are all equally great choices. You should pick one that describes your needs and budget the most.

There are only Kaveri FM2+ version of steamroller due at the moment, it's not clear when (or if) AM3+ will be getting FX steamroller cores at the moment AMD have said nothing on the subject of their AM3+ plans in about a year.

Just noticed an update from wiki
In November 2013, AMD confirmed it will not update the FX series in 2014, neither its current Socket AM3+ version, nor will it receive a Steamroller version with a new socket.

well... there goes my plans... lets see if Intel comes up with something good around this time then.

Have you been in PC world lately? They've let themselves down quite a bit. Check out their products on website, your eyes will bleed out.

They have always been like that. I remember we got our first family pc there before I knew anything about pc's.

It was probably **** spec for even at that time and I think it was about 1600 pounds.

Hopefully moving to the U.K soon. Job interview on Friday. I feel bad disconnecting everyone in my house when I want to play BF4, especially seen as I don't pay for it but I discussed it in my head and realised I'm the only one that uses it correctly ie: play games and watch porn.

Aye. It's silly really. Only took it as all the Horizon packs are €50 for the first 6 months.
