It might be worth a try. If you go with your order number they might be able to physically change the order on their end. They might have better access to the system than going through the head office.

Yeah at this stage it would be, you might get lucky and get one before Christmas, they also will not charge you till its shipped, Argos is another option but you would have to start queuing very early.

Good news lads, was able to switch to the killzone bundle over from watch dogs in the end without losing my place in the queue. Very happy about that! Not long to go now, looking forward to all the news and vids from the US next week!

Argos update.

I went in to the Argos in Waterford to inquire...

Argos Waterford does not know how many consoles it is getting yet . One of the managers told me that they will not know how many they have been allocated till a day or two before launch ,but she was not 100% on this. You will not be able to prebook the console online . The system will tell you that the console has been reserved for you but will then automatically delete the reserve. It is a first come,first served system . The store will be opening at 9pm . The manager was oblivious to the fact that only Argos and Tesco are the only stores (afaik) that will have launch day walk in and pickup consoles .She thought that Smyths,GS and other retailers would be doing the same . When I told her of the fact that you needed to preorder as far back as august to be sure of a launch day console the penny dropped . I told her to expect queues outside the shop from probably the night before.

I later heard a rumour from another shop that a friend of his works in another Argos up the country and that his friends shop is only getting 2 consoles...I call bull$hit on this though as the guy who told me this is part of the Sony hype machine .


Ohh...and WTF , BF4 on the PS4 is not been released as a Deluxe edition, just a basic pack. Well that sucks !.

2Mad2BeMad works at Argos, he said he would let us know when he knew what the story is, he said the same thing about them not knowing till a day or two before it launches.

You should take it, they are getting far more bundles in then solus consoles, you might be lowering your chances of getting one by not taking it.

Cheers. I asked in my local argos myself and said they'd be only getting in 15-20 consoles. I can only imagine a shop would be getting in at least 200-300 consoles.
Anyone know why a worker in argos would say there only getting in 15-20 consoles or would this be actually true?

They are not a dedicated game store, so they will not be getting that many so 20 could be true, even the likes of Gamestop are only getting around 60-100 per store, a poster here works in a Argos and said he would keep us up to date, you only have one million launch consoles outside of the US, so they are by no means plentiful.
