Reserve with Argos at midnight on the 28th go to store at 9am and pick up console. Or go an queue at Argos from about 4/5am and pick up console. they dont take pre orders

Dropped into Gamestop in Parkway Limerick this afternoon to check where I am on the preorder list.
They have 146 preorders and I'm 97th on the list. Not sure of their allocation yet. Preordered on the 10th August.

Asked the manger about the tweet on their site about everyone who has preordered before the end of August is guaranteed a day1 console. He had heard nothing about that but in fairness to him he rang the guy who runs the site and rang me back 20 minutes later. He confirmed anyone who has preordered before the end of August will get a PS3 on day 1 !!

It's confirmed and was strongly suspected that AC4 would be the stand in for Watch Dogs before Sony confirmed it.

So I rang GameStop in Stephen's Green there a few minutes ago about my PS4 pre-order, which I made around the 23rd of August. She did confirm that they are hoping to meet all August pre-orders and that they are going to be calling people within the next week once they get confirmation of allocations. She said if you don't get a call by this time next week, you will be in the second batch.

I really don't understand Gamestops allocation policy, I would have thought Dublin would have gotten the allocations sorted weeks ago but seems to be the other way around, Waterford Gamestop has gotten there allocation, gotten bundles all sewn up weeks back

not that im complaining lol just seems weird

They have gotten more stock in the last few days which they are in the process of allocating to stores now.

Too good to be true? Guaranteed launch-day delivery if you order by 27th Nov?

It's UK only, but you can get around that via parcel motel.

I've ordered this a couple weeks ago, rang them and everything, they said I might not have it release day due to being in Ireland but still be deispatched so I should have the Monday or Tuesday.. Fine by me

I am a little sceptical, however.

Went into my local gamestop the other day, was told i'm not guaranteed to get my PS4 on launch even though I have it paid off in full because I pre-ordered in August... Couldn't even pre-order the KZ:SF bundle either... Kinda annoyed about that.

I mean I want to go down launch night but I don't want to get in the queue for hours and be told I can't have my PS4 because someone else pre-ordered before me...

They will let you know if you can get one on release day before the 29th. They seem to have gotten more in the last few days.

THIS MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHAT SO EVER! August was late to pre-order so you shouldn't be guaranteed one! I swear to god if anyone who pre-order in September comes up and says I deserve one before all of you because i paid it all off..

Gamestop have said(at least in Limerick) they will be ringing people the week before if to confirm they have one at launch and if you dont get a call and go in you will be told "no console for you"

Calm down man! Don't bold a part of his sentence and leave out the bit where he says he pre-ordered in august and not September. He's just annoyed having paid so much money for something and not being guaranteed it on launch!

I'm not even majorly annoyed, I'd just rather be told "Yeah you can get it on launch" or "No you can't get it on launch".

Yeah I understand. I per ordered in Harvey norman and they seem a bit bogey. Especially since I only per ordered last week (Drogheda store) and was told I'll have it at launch. Got the €500 bundle with them. Just hoping to get it before Christmas if not launch.

Last time I was in the Drogheda branch, their games section was reduced to to two stalls. Didn't even think of going there to pre-order at the time I did!

They're processing Xbox Ones this weekend, PS4's next weekend, will know more then.

My uncle lives there so I said I'd chance my arm and ring them and they said they had some left. Rang my uncle and he was straight on it. It was last Sunday. It was worth a go anyway. Also have one per ordered with amazon but pretty sure that's second batch.

The majority of stores are working on a list system, do not expect to get preferential treatment due to you having it paid off in full, if they get 50 in and your 51st on the list you will not get one. You will not even be allowed in the store at lunch if they have a midnight release, you are behind at least 100 people depending on your order date, but at least you have pre ordered and are ahead of the posse of those who just expect to walk in and get one at launch or before Christmas.

I have been keeping an eye of Gamestop Facebook page and one guy asked if it is possible to update your online pre-order in store to get the Killzone bundle and Gamestop replied contact the store.

Has anyone tried this?
