Thanks for that, wondering if there have been any battery updates in this one?

Really, was it OTA or did you do it yourself. It only came out recently on the HTC One as far as i knew

Are you sure it's not 4.2.2 you're on?

If your phone is unbranded then you may have gotten 4.3 earlier, but not massively likely considering it was only September they confirmed it's release.

    Never mind, my mistake :o

Dunno why, but for some reason I thought the last update I got was 4.3. Just checked and I am indeed on 4.2.2, but 4.3 is downloading :)

    Something about sandwiches

I'm on O2 and its giving me an update.

It got me thinking though. Is there an app, or widget, I can get to show my internet usage?

    Cheers.

"Hey guys- I've just popped on a bit later than usual to let you know the 4.3 rollout for HTC One will start tomorrow :)
Let me know if you've any questions!" Three Rep just answered my question

Your phone does that already, check Settings > More > Usage

everything is in there and it allows you limit the usage if you so wish.

Decided to switch my HTC One to the google edition using this guide: http://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/convert-any-htc-one-into-stock-google-play-edition-with-bootloader-recovery-ota-updates-0148068/

It's not rooted and will allow for normal OTA updates. Obviously I lost sense, but meh anyway. All in all, it feels smoother and battery life also seems better. I'll see if there's any noticeable differences in both over the next few days, will report back.

All going well, I'll get Kit Kat in the next few weeks too. :D

The guide I followed included a 4.2.2 RUU. Once I booted up, all my apps downloaded and then I got an update to Google Play Services & also the 4.3.0 update at same time. No issues with downloading or updating.

I'll post back again when 4.4 is released for this phone.

Cool let us know if you experience any glitches on performance issues or otherwise with 4.3

    Cheers!

I am going to install ARHD Google Edition when 4.4 comes along but the one thing that kept bringing me back to Sense roms on all my previous HTC has been the quality of headphone audio and volume.

Since you installed the GE have you noticed a change in headphone audio?

    Thanks

I walked to work this morning, listened to podcasts for about 35/40 minutes. Sounded fine, but I don't know how loud I had it. I'll check with music/etc at lunchtime.

The thing is that the Google Edition keeps the beats/etc from HTC, HTC still control the kernel underneath Android, so there shouldn't be an issue. I can't comment on other ROMS though.

I'll report back on audio in half an hour or so, nipping out for a bite to eat now...

    Cheers,

I suppose I could just install the GE rom and give it a go.

My One still says it is up to date on 4.2.2.. What's up with that?

It's a bit more involved than the usual ROM installation, mainly because I had to change my CID/MID.

On the volume front, it seems to be to be louder than normal actually, music was quite boomy and nice...

That's if you want to official GE version. ARHD will take that version, make a few tweaks and then I can install it as custom ROM. It should have the exact same performance.
