How to get Channel 5 and BBC One HD on your Irish EPG and Recordable!!

    Both boxes on 998 this morning. Utv still working after redoing the trick. It must have been an update.

    I've discovered that you can record the BBC Red Button channel on a Sky+ HD box.


    Firstly, add the BBC Red Button channel to 'Other Channels'.
    It's on:
    10.773
    H
    22.0
    5/6
    labelled 6390


    Now, follow these steps:


    Press Services
    Select Other Channels
    Select 6390
    Press Services
    Press Add Channels
    Arrow down
    Press Yellow Button
    wait a few seconds then press the SKY button (do not press Back Up)


    Now you can record channel 6390

    Excellent find mate thanks... seems to be working with most other channels in "other channels" aswell. (doesn't seem to work with ITV HD but UTV yes)...

    EDIT: ... just thinking there now - I have UTV on the EPG so it seems you can only do it if it was already on the EPG or Red Button channels. Channel number is replaced with "000" on channels outside the ones on the EPG and says it cant be added to planner. Seems to be fine on the Red Button channel though.

    103 for Sky NI HD customers and 178 for SD package customers (us hopefully too).. no real other news except its running at 9.9 Mb/s.

    9.9 Mb/s is that good? Will I need to tune it into other channels and redo the trick?

    Not at home so can't check but that's surprising, channels are usually added about 11:30.

    I'm not home either. Will have a check later. There's some other new channel going on 156 too. Can't remember what its called.

    Its on but I cant get it on the EPG. Will reboot and try again


    EDIT... Ya working on EPG now.. Phew!!

    At the moment yes... I had to add 178 as a favourite when I rebooted with the UTV card in and everything seems to be working fine!

    No I didn't think I'd have to. I don't have to do the favourites trick to get the full epg

    Bit of a strange on,was using a HD box for fta in the bedroom along with a UK card to get the English EPG. Ended up using the card elsewhere and the box was left plugged out due to renovations.Hooked it all back up the other night minus any card & still have the UK EPG.

    Are you sure? I am doing the card-trick and UTVHD only appeared on the epg when I added it to my favourites and re-booted.

    I also have all the c4's, bbc ni etc in other channels and they don't appear on the epg, i.e. on 101, 102 etc. unless I add them to favourites?
