6 months seems like a long time to have to get the full benefit of this...

I think I may "rise" to this challenge, whea.

What are the benefits supposed to be? Is there any science to back it up?

I think it's really only for people who are already in a rut in their lives. Going 'no fap' when everything's already hunky dory is a waste of time I think and could probably cause more problems than it might fix.

After reading this thread, it reminded me of a friend of mine who gave up porn over a year ago.

Hadn't talked to him about it since he mentioned it so i brought it up again, and it turned out he was also doing the NoFap thing for over a year to my surprise!

Now he spent quite a bit of time watching and collecting porn - hours every week.

So I asked him if he had any benefits.

He said after a few months:

His self confidence improved in every way.

Like talking to women. He felt emotionally stronger.

He became more motivated, worked out harder in the gym.

    His mind became clearer.

He said women became more attractive also, even chicks that just looked average before, he suddenly thought they were beautiful.

When you read **** like this on the internet you'd be pretty skeptical,
but when you know a close friend that went through it and reaped the benefits its a lot more motivating.

So I've decided to give it a go myself now!

I only watch porn 1-3 times a week max - not longer than 30 mins a go, so I'm not expecting results as impressive as my friend's.

But any benefits would be worthwhile.

So as I embark on this long and challenging journey there's one image that I will keep in my thoughts......

A double-edged sword if you ask me.

I think the point is that you don't expect all women to look like your favourite pornstars.

You're doing it wrong, so. Shouldn't take more than about 5 minutes.

Very nearly gave in just now, but didn't want to waste a few weeks of sacrifice in a few seconds.

    Time to think unsexy thoughts....

I'm at 3 months now. Doesn't seem like something I'd do now and it's weirder to think that everybody else does.

Decided to give this a go and so far lasted 7 days, I did notice on the 6th and 7th day I felt great, elevated mood etc. but back to a low ebb after the 7th day when I gave in.

Gave this up after two months. Head feels a lot clearer. No-fap is f*cking dumb.

It makes it easier to find your way to the bathroom in the dark because your balls go so blue they glow.

Rather than working on resisting the urge to watch pornography while engaging in acts of onanism, why don't some of you chaps expend the same energy on meeting a partner?

    Starting again as of today.

I think that is the point.
Rather than masturbating - focus on getting your sexual satisfaction from a partner.

Think I will give this a go for this month. Short month and BF4 came out so I have something to distract myself with. Though I'm probably changing one vice for another ha

Yeah apparently mister kellogg was a bit of a nut about interfering with himself. Reckoned his formula for cornflakes would stop the youth choking their purple headed love bisons.

So if you get the real thing, you start again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,076 ✭✭✭Eathrin

    Update: Just passed 100 days.
No real temptation anymore. Sometimes I think I miss porn though.

No, I don't think so.There's no problem with the real thing so only fapping is to be avoided.

I think it does get easier if you can make it past 3-4 weeks.

All about the porn are you? How's the relationship stuff going?

When someone thinks that they're **** too much they probably are. They should try to make it into anything else or relate it to anything or anyone else, they're probably just **** too much.

Last time I stopped completely I wanted to shag the lamp. Seriously though, I found every girl so much more appealing.
