    * Bump *

Anyone got an answer for my Haswell question below?
Quick question, I noticed a fair few recommendations to go with the Haswell CPU in some recent new build suggestions. Now I thought Haswell ran way too hot for OC. Unless you invested in some serious expensive cooling solutions. Even at stock speeds I thought is was running hot. So with all these recent recommendations for Haswell, has Intel improved it since it's initial release? Or was the initial release a bad batch of CPU's?

Lash it in Eoin and make sure you remember to attach the Crossfire Bridge :)

Go into Catalyst Control Centre and turn CrossfireX on for games and that should do it.

^Have to admit had a little chuckle there ha

Just collected it there(also my free haribo jellys:))

Only one last question, current fan setup is:

    1x200mm top exhaust
    1x120mm rear exhaust

    1x200mm front intake

Also cpu fan is cm hyper evo 212 set up to exhaust toward the rear 120mm

So question is im gonna add a fan to the side of the case, 120mm,should I make it an intake or exhaust?
Was wondering because ive only got the one intake at the moment

I'm definitely going to grab some Nanoxias next time I order from HWVS. They really are great fans, very mild sound at max speed compared to the Scythes I have.

Threw the second card in and booted up all good, windows reset my colour profile for some reason but other than that all good.

Getting an issue with the second gpu though, its usage is constantly at 99%? Its at stock clocks so temps are in the mid 50's so its not a major problem but have no idea whats makin it happen. Quick google suggests that it might be driver related and i plan to go back to ccc13.8 just to check.

Anybody have any issues like this recently?

Edit:A few updates and restarts and everything settled down. Overclocked them to 1100/1350 and set a fairly aggressive fan profile and the top card reached a max of 63C so with the same profile i reckon i can squeeze a bit more out of them.Max Vrm temp on either card was 69C. With a mix of high and half AA settings was getting around 90fps with dips to 80 or so at 2560x1440 on Battlefield 3. Hope to be able to overclock the monitor to 96Hz and maintain that fps,but i have to say it was amazing playing BF3 even at a solid 60fps at 1440. Makes me think if ill bother overclocking the monitor, could play at a solid 60fps with everything on ultra hopefully

Happy so far after earlier issues were resolved,a lot of tweaking to do me thinks...

Did the same myself. Texture popping I can deal with but whole items like lamp posts and tree's just appearing in front of you gets pretty irritating when you're going pretty fast.

I caved in too. It a good game, but its just crying out to not be on current gen. FPS drops below 20, texture, structure pop ups, Scalled down traffic and pedestrian activity, stupidly long loading times online, I wount even mention connectivity issues.
When pc version comes out, I am going to get it too. With no games for windows bollox modding will be even easier too.

I'm the same, I just had to start playing it, so bought it on Monday for my XBox (which has seen more or less zero activity in 2 years). Great game, but I'm not holding my breath for a great port to PC, Rockstar tend to make a balls of it.

Ebay is usually worth a look-plenty of laptop parts available-think this is the one you require.

Anybody got a few 1440p heaven results they could throw up? Just interested to have something to compare my results too other than my previous and see if im around the right performance area. Added a 2nd 7950 and a mild overclock for these results

    Settings for heaven:

Edit: I threw it away :( I have some results from default heaven settings @ 1440p though

Mind if I ask why qnix over others? was it only because of OC?

What do you have your cards clocked at...I will copy your clock with my 7970`s(i5 2500k) and see what I get with the qnix

Lads im going to be saying good bye to ol` faithell...My I5 2500k and asrock fatality pro p67 shortly... Just ordered some new gear..
How much do ye think would be a reasonable price to throw up on adverts for the cpu mobo combo...???

Cheers dwight man, just want a current reference, latest drivers and all that for something to compare to.

    Cards are at 1050/1400.

Overclocking the cpu as we speak, reckon ive got 4.4 ghz stable.
Max vcore 1.272v and max core temp 84C about half way into an hour prime test. Not sure but the prime test with the guide im using seems to be fairly strenuos

If the cpu overclock raises my score any significant amount ill post up the new score

If you mean why Qnix over any of the other korean monitors I reckon theres much of a muchness between them all. If I had more spare cash I may have plumped for a Catleap, but the newer models dont seem to be as worth the extra cash as the older models were. The old 2b model was supposed to be amazing and overclocked great but there nearly €700 from what I could see on ebay.

As regrds going qnix over say a dell or a asus branded monitor the reason there was price. For the price of buying one of those branded monitors I got a qnix and a second 7950.

Dont think 1 7950 is quite enough for 1440 unless your prepared to turn down a lot pf settings to say medium with no AA. And I wanted to play at 1440/100hz so no way I could do that with one 7950.

    Cash is king:)

I was lucky enough to get a good qnix though, and that does seem to be a lottery

Speaking of refresh rates and the like, Nvidia's new G-Sync technology has promise. I'm also incredibly grateful they didn't call it N-Sync.

This is my max OC on air but I don't use it much as the noise is stupid.. but it is stable for when I go on water. its 1125/1650.... very hot though...I don't like pushing that far...Also volts for that @ 1.2[IMG][/img]tt_zps22c6c924.png

Dead right...I opted for another 7970 to feed the qnix...Got it cheap through scan as a return....190 euro I paid for it with 6mth warrenty...not so bad..
So far its working a treat and I do give em a flogging.. noisy but all going on water in the next 6 weeks... now that's going to be a fun build...not so much fun on the wallet though...
