But "ready for Norwich" could mean starting on the bench to be rested for the CL game, which is worse as he might only get one point for being brought on for the last 10 minutes.

True but 10 minutes of Ozil could bag an assist
true.. as I said wenger is usually very clear in his press conferences so we should have plenty of notice. If he is going for a scan there must be some concern.

When you spend the sort of money Arsenal did, you take every precaution with your investment. Wenger played that mind game with RVP before, I havent forgotten that one!

If they're missing Walcott and Ozil in the middle Arsenal could struggle, even at home to Norwich. 19/4 is a decent price for the draw.

True! Wenger cannot be trusted. 2 seasons ago he said that RVP should be rested for his own sake ... and he got a monstruous score at the weekend (something like 3 goals and 2 assists).

No IMO. He isn't playing well. United aren't playing well. I'd wait until he starts scoring points before bringing him in.

There are plenty of midfield options available.

Nani has done feck all in years.

Heard that Ramsey looked knackered last night, played well and scored but i wonder about him starting this weekend. Considering our other 3 options in centre-mid all got rest(Arteta, Flamini, Jack was a sub for England) and Dortmund coming in midweek.

Ramsey has a great engine though, seems to recover well after games.

What situation will we be looking at when Wenger has a full deck to pick from, will we see rotation or do ye think he's going to freeze a few out, Ozil and one of Arteta and Flamini(possibly both) are certainties, there's 3 jerseys to go between lets say Arteta, Walcott, Wilshere, Santi, Ramsey and Podolski all of whom(except Ramsey) have a world cup next year, that's ignoring Ox and Rosicky, sorry about the confusing nature of this post, I'm interested in other opinions.

There are no certainties for this game, Dortmund is next tues/wed eg the biggest game of the season so far.

    Sooooooooooo.....

Shawcross or Whittaker for Fonte or Lovren this GW.

Looking at Southamptons up coming fixtures it will only be for a few GWs.

Currently also looking to shipout maybe Coleman, Ben Arfa, or Michu over the next 2-3 GWs.

    Current line up is

    Mignolet---Boruc

    Dawson--Whittaker--Shawcross--Coleman--José Enrique

    Silva--Ben Arfa--Michu--Paulinho--Ramsey

    Sturridge---Lukaku---Giroud

    Thoughts?

Is there any sort of a "template" team at the minute?
I'm doing Wildcard and wondering who are best options long term, in any position?

Could probably name 4 that everyone will have

    Mignolet/Boruc

    Zabaleta/Coleman

    Ozil/Ramsay

    Rooney/Sturridge

The other midfielder I looked at was Michu but, believe it or not, I don't overly rate Swansea. They over achieved last season and they've alot of ordinary players IMO. I got laughed at when I said the same about Newcastle two years ago but I feel justified in that opinion now.

The Swans also seem to be struggling with UEFA and league football which hits alot of teams. The new signings like Bony haven't hit the ground running either.

Agree with Swans not being as good as last year, but the upcoming fixtures include some against dodgy defences, and I'd hope that Michu will score FPL wise for next 4 or 5 weeks, remains to be seen whether he's a longer term option.

I'll possibly bring Oscar in next week for Erikson although if his price keeps going up I may have to shift someone else first. Tempted also to hold off and get Mata...

It looks like I'll be taking a points hit this week. It's just a question of whether it'll be -4 or -8 or maybe even more?

AJ came in for Brady last Saturday week and with my golden boy Nathan Redmond dropping in price tonight I think I'll have to offload him for the time-being. Ravel seems the logical choice when considering price and form.

My perfectly rational hatred of Hangeland grows with each day he remains in my squad and as I alluded to earlier in the week is in a prime position to be shipped out for a Swan (one of Chico, Williams or Davies) but this can wait until Friday anyway.

I can smell the points hits wafting in through the window and it smells good :pac:

Chico is nailed on to start every game (unlike Davies) and seems to be one of the main benefactors from the new BPS system. Swansea have very good fixtures and I think the chances of clean sheets (and bonus for Chico) are higher than a defender getting some attacking returns.

So I'm not looking for Chico to score attacking points but I do expect him to get in the bonus if the Swans keep a cleanie.

That's my own preference though. I can't take risks with players that may not play (I have spent 3 transfers in the last 2 weeks getting rid of non-starting players).

Go with whatever player to feel is best for your team. I really like Davies, and if I could get a guarantee that he would start every game, I'd take him. However, Davies is a doubt for Sunday and Taylor is in contention for a place too.

Good points, I hadn't considered Swansea for defensive points but with £5.9m to spend on a defender I might go for one of them over Mertesacker. I'm wary of my entire team consisting of players from Top 6 teams and Swans have a good run. They've been terrible at home this year though, normally they pick up more clean sheets at home.

Why do you rate Chico so much? No attacking points and only 1 BP so far. And only 3 BP's last season! Surely Rangel is a better shout if you can afford him?

I would have said Ben Davies!

I've one transfer stored, tempted to get in lukaku for sturridge or suarez but can't think of which to sacrifice and don't know if i actually want to do it either. My 11 for this week is pretty solid and i fully expect pool to score a couple against newcastle, but lukaku man, i've always been a fan!

Ben Arfa to Oscar for a 4pt hit??? If I'm gonna make that transfer, need to do it tonight. Any advice?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

    Do it.

Yeah, i'm about 90% settled towards making transfer. It's very easy to see the plus side.

The other 10% is annoyed about taking another points hit, and thinking there could be a possibility of Mourhino resting Oscar this weekend! Most of the Chelsea midfield have been on fire for their respective countries this week, and with Oscar having a bit of a trek back to London, might be the right time to rest him?

Ok simple question who to start Barkley or Coleman Vs Hull?
rest of team is solid with lot of home games.

I'm struggling to pull the trigger on Ravel for Redmond at the hit tonight. I'm feeling like a bit of a tit doing Brady to AJ as opposed to Redmond now if Brady'll be fit this week or next but the uncertainty over Redmond's gametime is a concern.

Will Ravel continue starting for West Ham now though or will Allardyce bench him again soon I wonder. My bench players need to be playing, especially with the uncertainty over AJ and perhaps Ozil of playing. I have an hour to decide now so I don't expect much help at this hour, but thinking aloud all the same :pac:

I've allowed Oscar rise in price way too much because other transfers took priority for one reason or another. Now I'm looking at pulling the trigger to get him in for Lampard. I can't afford Lampard not with the doubts over Brady and Ozil. Midfield looking very bare at the moment.

Do ye reckon both Lampard and Oscar have the same chances of starting this weekend? Lampard didn't play as much over the international period.

If an omen like that pops up, I suggest you just roll with it.
