    Is Ozil definitely out??

Oscar came on at half time for Brazil in Beijing and scored:

    http://www.goal.com/en-gb/match/124706/brazil-vs-zambia/report?

Also, am I reading that report right in that the game occurred at 12.45 BST. Is that British Standard Time?

So it essentially happened at mid day yesterday meaning Oscar could have been on his way back to London by the time the other games were kicking off yesterday.

Match was midday yesterday yes, I posted score in the Internationals thread. I'm still going for Michu though... :)

Ye the likes of oscar will have had 12 hours more recovery than the s american players like suarez. I think the fact that internationals now take place on a tues rather than wed should also help him. Their still has to be a doubt because of the schalke game and the fact its cardiff at home but may go with oscar myself

Exact same transfers out for me. Exact same transfers in too. For me, Chico is the top Swans defender.

I'm only asking because I respect your opinion and have a Swansea defender on my radar considering their next 5 games all have serious clean sheet potential. Why is it Chico and not Rangel or Davies that you give top billing to? I've seen very little of Swansea except highlights but I notice his offensive returns have been non existent since he arrived in England(Wales).

Santi Cazorla will be involved on Saturday and Walcott may be in the squad also.

Is it worth switching out Ozil for Oscar. The speculation is that it's only a bruised knee.

I think Ozil will be fine personally,so I'd hold off

He's probably not even out of bed, do you think this might be considered a little bit hasty?

I have Chester and Brady. Now with uncertainty over Ozil I'm thinking of using my transfer to upgrade Chester. I have 6.3 to spend which is enough for Terry. But that really is throwing all my eggs in the defence basket this weekend.

    I'd be starting:
    Vidic - Dawson - Coleman - Nastasic - Terry

Is this a wise move? I could always downgrade Coleman in later weeks if I need to bulk attack.

Granted yes it would be, was seeing if anyone else heard anything about the injury. I didn't see the game myself so I don't know if it was a knock or full force studs to the knee.

Chico is nailed on to start every game (unlike Davies) and seems to be one of the main benefactors from the new BPS system. Swansea have very good fixtures and I think the chances of clean sheets (and bonus for Chico) are higher than a defender getting some attacking returns.

So I'm not looking for Chico to score attacking points but I do expect him to get in the bonus if the Swans keep a cleanie.

That's my own preference though. I can't take risks with players that may not play (I have spent 3 transfers in the last 2 weeks getting rid of non-starting players).

Go with whatever player to feel is best for your team. I really like Davies, and if I could get a guarantee that he would start every game, I'd take him. However, Davies is a doubt for Sunday and Taylor is in contention for a place too.

Wait and see what happens with Ozil. Should be more concrete news by tomorrow, initial reports promising http://www.fanatix.com/news/arsenal-hopeful-on-minor-mesut-ozil-injury/156498/

That's a lot of cash tied up in defenders IMO. I have Chester and am hoping to hold onto him as my other 4 defs have reasonable fixtures the next 2 weeks while hull have 2 tricky aways and he would be bench material anyway. Chester is hoped to be back for Hulls next home game to Sunderland, as is Brady so I don't want to waste a transfer for 2 weeks. I'm hoping to keep chester long term as he's the only 4m defender who is a fairly definite starter in a team who look resilient defensively especially at home, so I think the best 5th defender for home rotation in FPL, with Clyne a close second.

Did Ferdinand to Chico and Ward-Prowse to Amalfitano. Now have to decide whether to play Amalfitano over Eriksen...

I have Chester too and was planning on getting Rat in for him but having second thoughts now when you look at it like that.

Even if Ozil is fit I can see him being rested on saturday...

    - Played every game since his move, rare enough you see a player maker a move to new country and play so many games in a row (country included)

-Even if he is 95% fit, Wenger will want him 100% for Dortmund in the CL. Wenger also has a history of risking weaker teams at home against smaller clubs like Norwich

    -Carzola should be back

Lukas Podolski on Özil's injury: "I called Mesut, he felt pain on his knee. But it's not in danger and he'll be ready for Norwich." #AFC

    He should be fine

My hope is that the last time Mourinho rested Oscar they lost to Everton. I'm hoping he won't want to take that chance again.

    So hard to call

Mata back in form with a bang and a couple of goals for Spain
Schurrle with a German hat trick
Oscar 2 in 2 for Brazil
Hazard scored last time out v Norwich
Willian with a screamer against the budgies
    De Bruyne scored last night

    Impossible to predict

Mourinho seems to rate Oscar as his best of those players though.

I want to build with Oscar as my number 10. I want the other two players, from the side (wings), to adapt to that reality and to learn how to do things that they were not ready to do before."

I see the Chelsea midfield as a minefield myself but I made the transfer knowing that Oscar may not start this gameweek. He's a long term choice and I hope a player I'll be warranted keeping a while.

The other midfielder I looked at was Michu but, believe it or not, I don't overly rate Swansea. They over achieved last season and they've alot of ordinary players IMO. I got laughed at when I said the same about Newcastle two years ago but I feel justified in that opinion now.

The Swans also seem to be struggling with UEFA and league football which hits alot of teams. The new signings like Bony haven't hit the ground running either.

I'd consider what Lukas Polodski said a better source on his injury than the Daily Fail tbh

But "ready for Norwich" could mean starting on the bench to be rested for the CL game, which is worse as he might only get one point for being brought on for the last 10 minutes.

true.. as I said wenger is usually very clear in his press conferences so we should have plenty of notice. If he is going for a scan there must be some concern.

Did not need to hear that. My bench consists of Fonte (United away) Turner (Chelsea away) and Brady (****ed). Already playing Morrison against City but this isn't too bad considering his recent form and 2 goals last night.

Think I'll have to do a Turner->Mertesacker swap.

Am I mad for cosidering getting rid of Ramsey for Walcott in a couple weeks?

Can't see Ramsey keeping up such good form indefinitely, with all of Arsenal's creative players I also cannot see Walcott not scoring once he comes back into the team...

If I can afford it of course :D

I reckon he's still in form and will remain in form for some time. We didn't see much of him in the last Arsenal game, but he did score a goal on Tuesday against Belgium. I could see Walcott and Ramsey both starting, but I wouldn't get rid of Ramsey until I was sure that Walcott was in good form...
