76 strokes off 12 today .. 11 pars 2 birdies 4 bogies and an awful triple bogey .. best round of the year .. driver wasn't working early on so went with hybrid off most tees .. left myself a lot of long irons but there must be something in this course management !

    About time!!

    72 gross

    14 pars
    2 birdies
    2 bogeys

    9/13 fairways
    16/18 greens
    34 putts

Annoyingly putting was only ok & 3 putted the last after a very mediocre approach. But overall happy with the days work!

    82 strokes
    9 pars
    7 bogeys
    2 doubles
    33 putts

Another day with silly double bogeys

Sorry Captain PistolPete, but I'm probably back down to 5 for the Ryder Jug :)

    75 gross for a 69 nett, 1 birdie, 13 pars and 4 bogeys.

Had an absolute feed of pints last night, was dancing, all sorts of debauchery and no expectations this morning of doing anything else other than .1 and hopefully not lose too many golf balls. I parred the first.....and the second....and the third....and the fourth.. I was like, feckin hell, I could do something here. Stood up on the fifth tee and declared to my playing partners, they would need to go level par to take the money off me today!

I was still level after 7, but bogeyed 8 and parred 9 to be +1 on the front 9. parred 10 and 11 as well, but made a bad bogey on 12. Another par 13, birdied 14 and parred 15.

unfortunately I bogeyed 16 and 17 but a great par on 18 brought in my best round of the year!

and i won the money :)

31 pts today. Was full of confidence having shot 37 and 39 in my last two comps. Struck the ball well but unfortunately in the wrong direction for most of the round:D.
Only hit 5 fairways and 5 greens in regulation along with a couple of three putts.
On the plus side I did get up and down 4/5 from green side bunkers for par so at least something is working.
Off for the week so plenty of practice will be had.

Been steadily improving over the past few weeks. Home course is par 71. Last 4 weeks shot a net 71, 71, 69 & today a 65.

Was playing crap upto then but got 3 lessons off one of our pros. He has changed my game totally.

29 points in Adare Manor today. Only 2 pars. Poor double double finish. First time playing the course. Think that brings me up to 77 courses played in Ireland now - bit to go to catch up with Kevin Markham though! :D

35 today in Druids heath off 10. Really pissed off as was tracking 41 coming up 14 and then had 4 1 pointers and a scratch!!!

    The round was:
    Par
    Bogey
    Par
    Bogey
    Par
    Bogey
    Par
    Bogey
    Par

    Par
    Birdie
    Bogey
    Par
    Bogey
    Bogey
    Double bogey
    Bogey
    Double bogey

Got excited after thirteen, thinking I had this and was an easy 41 points.

Then totally lost focus, scared to commit to putts and over hitting chips.

Had no water or anything to eat so think dehydration and lack of food made me
    Lose concentration!

Anyway, 35 points an I left at least 10 points out there based in handicap!

33points today off 12hc. The last 4 holes caught me out again. 30pts standing on the 15th tee. Only 3 points in the last 4 holes.

    50% FIR
    28% GIR
    30% U/D
    32 putts

Really hope the scores are low enough to catch the buffer

+8 back nine after 2 OB.

37 points of 12. Not bad considering i was using a rental set. R5 driver and callaway x-16 irons :-0

After a season in which I have had very mixed results I managed to win my club singles yesterday. :)

We are having drainage work done at the moment so there were only 13 holes in play but I still managed 33 points off 18. There were 154 entries.

    I'm a happy camper today.

Played V par compeition, ended up +2, 77 gross which wasnt bad, alot of greens in regulation and good few fairways hit with the trusty 3 wood. ended up with a .2 cut and 4th place so was happy enough with that.

114 today first time playing on Navan.

Lost two balls in the rough 6ft off the fairway,it was very long but still couldn't believe I couldn't find it.

Thought I was doing really bad and I think it affected me but ended up about average.

Another 98 today 45front & 53 back9 29pts with 38putts:eek: so i really need to improve around the greens & i made the move & joined tramore today in the hope that il use the practice area to hopefully get my short game where it needs to be...

79 yesterday off 8 with rotten big 7 on a par 3 which got me cut .8 for the round and another 1 shot cut ESR. Had 2 shot ESR applied a month ago so after tumbling from 11.6 to 5.8 over the summer. Have to try and come to terms with this new handicap. No mistakes allowed anymore.

Just a week late, was out on Saturday morning in Palmerstown, had my best round in the last year and a half, 79 gross off 13, would have been a nice 42pts for the boards captains prize  Delighted with how I was hitting the ball, I would say it was best GIR and FIR percentages I ever had, and I still had 4 3 putts, lots of work to do on the short game over the winter.

hello didn't know where to post this.

my game is gone MIA .
last seen on the back 9 on Knockanally golf course about 1 month ago .
this is the longest he's been gone and I am starting to get worried .
I foolishly tried to play without him again on Sunday the consequences were dire .
on the first tee I stood stiff as a poker afraid my game was still MIA , confirmed by
a slash hook O.B of the tee . at this stage I decided it be best to put the big dog away ,
then I played some really good golf 9 points over the next 6 holes had me feeling positive .
hit the 8th G.I,R 20 footer but 3 putted . before I realised it I had slash double hooked my drive
on 9 lost ball . on 10 trouble left I managed to slice my drive at a near right angle lost ball on
a positive note avoided the trouble left . big dog put away for second time hit great 3 wood on 11
hit approach into greenside bunker stayed in there for a while then went over to the other bunker
then picked up my ball . next hole par 3 is easy but my slice over the trees over the next fairway left
it a bit tricky 2 duffs followed for another scratch .pulled out the trusty 3 wood only to slice the bejasus
out of it ,lost ball . I nr'd at this point as I thought I was not in the running .

the last medal of the year is sunday so if anyone has any information or sighted my game please pm me
the reward is small its just to give a person his sanity back .
    thanks in advance

    yours faithfully a delusional golfer

Playing off 16.0. I've been working hard all year with lessons and targeted practice but with little impact. The last 7 stapleford competitions I had a highest score of 30pts and an average of 27pts.

So imagine my delight on Sunday with a 2 over Gross on front nine, 10 over on the back nine to give a Stapleford score of 40 pts.
5 needless dropped shots in the last 6 holes made me fear the worst. But the results have come in today and I'm a WINNER:D.

My goal was to get to 14 by the end of the summer. Having beaten the CSS by 6 shots I think that takes me to 14.2.

Next target for me is to see if I can break 80, more of a dream really.

Congrats on the win! Is this a variation of Stableford:D??

You'll have no prob breaking 80, especially seeing as you had a +2 front 9!

As you'll probably guess I don't give a **#£ for my spelling at the moment.:D

I feel I have the shots to shoot high 70's on a good day but my big issue is choking. On Sunday in the last 6 holes, I had a 6 on 2 different par 3's (both where I was just short of the green in 1) and took 4 to get down from 10 yds in front of 18th Green.
Any advice for to avoid choking??

Well instead of trying to chip why don't you try getting out the putter a bit more often where possible?(both examples could have been areas where you tried this) A bad putt will get you closer to the hole, a bad chip can put you through the green.

I am obviously not an expert! Congrats on hitting your target.

I play on links so use the putter from off the green a lot but not possible in these cases.
At worst on those holes I should have taken bogey but in each case I hit a really bad shot. Looking back the only thing I can say is that I think I wasn't properly focused on the shot. I'm not sure how to explain it but even though the shot selection was the right one, I didn't have a positive mental picture of what I was doing.

    Casual round today, 78 strokes.
5 over after 8, 2 over for the next 10.
    9 pars

    8 bogey's

Finally managed to keep a double off my card :D

Always a good day when you can keep the really bad scores off the card

Congrats on the fine score. In relation to the choking perhaps the 'Heimlich Manoeuvre'.....

100 gross on Moor Park so 28 over

    2 Pars,7 Bogeys,6 Dbl bogeys and 3 over that.

Missed a few silly pars and some very very close ones along with two birdies where they ringed the cup.

Over all very happy,my best before was 111

It was wet and extremly windy at times (playing 70 yards left to come back right at times) so I'm delighted

Thats a pretty big drop in your Best Ever. Breaking 100, 95 and 90 are all in the near future

    Thanks :D
I was out again today and hit 101. I even played better today but missed a silly put on the 18th and hurt my back on an iron shot from the rough on the 3rd and it ruined my shots for it and the 4th (3 over) but it freed up after that so happy days :)
