This might clear it up for you.

Whether they were an Irish couple doing the same in Germany,I would say they were pure scum and would have no problem if they were sent back/barred from Germany.

    Germany?

As far as them existing in society though who would you rather have living in your area ? Some crooked politician or a violent criminal ? A politician or banker removed from their position is no longer in a position to do damage and is just a figure of contempt. A violent scumbag on the other hand is an ever present threat.

That reminds me, a top mafia bloke was arrested not too far from where I live the other week!

Yeah, cause if they were Irish, we'd all be so nice and forgiven of what they did I suppose.

The most ridiculous part of the story is that he was acquitted of threatening to kill an English businessman because Ricky Hatton gave him a character reference. It doesn't seem to matter that he had been convicted of numerous violent offences, as long as someone mildly famous was vouching for him.

I doubt if that's why he was acquitted. I'd imagine it was totally incidental in the context of the overall court case.
Newspapers phrase stuff in such as way because gullible people like yourselves will jump to these kind of conclusions.

In saying his friend owns the place, I bet the guy who owns the restaurant has had the friendship forced on him.

He probably went into the restaurant the previous week and said "Hello,my friend" to the owner with a face like this:mad:.Well you are now, owners face:eek:

Funny the way these sorts insist on being respected but never show any respect to other people.

If you search his past, he was an enforcer for one of London's biggest criminal gangs, the Adams family. The Adams were originally from Dublin. Ireland exported the family generations ago an now their associates are being imported back!

Amazing how many offences the Adams family and their associates got off with over the years.

Du du du du *finger click x 2*

I guess Lurch was lost after they let him go.

They are still amature compared to some of our own native scum .
As in... "our" native scum are worse than the scum of any other country? So what if you think they're "amateurs"? Does that make their behaviour any less awful?

Wtf? The hostility is in relation to what they did, no matter what nationality they are. Who the **** insinuated "our scum" are any better?

I'd be more concerned really about people like the couple in this case rather than words on an internet forum, which is just a kneejerk response to a gruesome attack.

For sure. There's no excuse for what they did and I condemn it entirely. It's just curious how such mindless acts of violence generate equally mindless responses.

The people of West Cork should bar them from every single restaurant, pub and shop when they get out.

Ricky Hatton told the judge he'd beat him into a pulp if he didn't acquit his good mate Billy.

It's not curious at all IMO to want them to get their comeuppance.
I don't agree with the death penalty or the state having the power to torture etc etc but if those two got a hiding off some vigilantes, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I wouldn't like to see it or anything, but simply being told about it, I'd be fairly "meh" in response.

Hmm. Not sure about that. How many people have suffered from their actions compared to this pair?

I guess it depends on what affects you view as being more severe; violent crime can be very traumatic for victims and it can cause life long issues particularly in terms of mental scarring (constantly looking over your shoulder, always feeling unsafe, nervous about going outside etc). Everyone's response to violent crime can be different, but considering the torture of the mental anguish that can be caused by violent crime I'd say that the bankers and politicians' crimes aren't worse than what these two have done to that waitress.

Yeah, good luck being the retail staff trying to enforce that. The guy's built like a tank ffs.
