Just put on a shirt I haven't worn since before the summer. Bent down to put on my runners and realised my shirt was too tight.

Its a good and a bad thing.

A grown man using a silk sheet as a toga in a Spartan costume to talk about legal threats being made against him in a video that will presumably be used in court at some stage. Just another normal day on the internet really.

Edit: Just watched that video, awesome. I never know when the fitness community ends and fitness entertainment community begins.

I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.

    @ronanc15, if you see this.

I'm planning to head into Eastway for a session on Friday as I'm thinking of changing gyms and had heard lots of good things about it so wanted to try it out. I'm just wondering what the locker situation is, like is it similar to UL where you put in a €2 coin, or is there a bag area or something?

You go upstairs to change and as you come back down, you go in through a door to enter the gym and there's a bagging area on your left.

If its still the same:) Blue or Jason will help anyway if you ask.

Much more hardcore from my own gym. Its not huge, but it's brilliant. I was only there 4 times of I recall but I'd love to be able to train there full time

    Spot on as RR said.

Sadly, Eastway will be closing it's doors on October 12th, so I'm afraid it's not really an option to change to Deano. By all means come in for a session or two before it closes up and enjoy the last bit of what really is a brilliant training atmosphere!!

I wish I was. :( Feels like I've lost a child or something with it closing. A couple of different factors but the bottom line was the traffic wasn't coming through the door. It really will be a major loss, the place was a goldmine of advice, support and encouragement.

    WTF

I cant actually believe that. That place had everything going for it. It had some of the best of everything in there...from MMA clubs to Powerlifting clubs wtf like.

Yep, the harsh reality is that unfortunately those onlyappeal to the minority. At least in the Limerick area. The vast majority stillbelieve that in order to get in shape you need every type of CV machineimaginable and are happy to continue heading to gyms without a notion what they’redoing so they can get that token Facebook “At the Gym” check-in.

    Agreed.

Man that actually shocked me. In my opinion its one of the best facilities to open in limerick since UL opened its doors to the public.

    Very sorry to hear that.

Just goes to show the marketing side of things really is important tho.

It's a shame to see a place with such good resources closing down.

Unbelievable. I was there for a week and got some of the best advice I've heard from Blue and Jason. If maybe it was in a more central part of the city or closer to it, they might have had the traffic coming in.

Yeah that's true. Most people are petrified of free weights. Even though the gym was probably for those a bit more advanced it's still a shame people don't feel like they're working out unless they're hauling the ****e outta some cable.

Where are you gonna train now?

Edit: https://www.facebook.com/EastwayFitnessClub/photos_stream Few pictures of the place. Always looks like a good buzz.

That side of the city is particularly saturated with gyms for some reason. Not so much out Caherdavin/Ennis Rd direction.

There will be a group of us moving to another gym after the 12th. Checking prices at the moment but we have yet to make a concrete decision on which one! LPC have a few options they're considering too. I'm sure they'll get sorted quickly with the worlds coming up.

Ha few sneaky pics of me in those photos!

@Hanley - agreed on that one!

True actually. All hotels at that side with there low class gyms. Would olympic gold be any good to LPC? Or UL? Can't think of many other good top class gyms around other than those.

Was Dominator a good in its time?
