I had the same, it happens my every few months, there's been lots of changes in the last few days. Do a full scan on satellite with wipe before scan and network enabled, reboot, then run autobouquets, reboot, then force download CrossEPG and you'll have all channels with EPG (may need reboot again).

Here's an updated set of Picons (updated this morning, suits Rep of Irl HD bouquets) https://db.tt/39YAMWEt

Seems to have fixed itself as none are greyed out now. Thanks anyway

got it going.. bit patchy but good to see it working

I have some time so going try LiveTV/PVR add on in my desktop XBMC WIN7 setup.
Have it pointing (over WAN) to my Amiko Alien 2 at home.
Its currently importing channels and EPG so will let you know how it goes later.

CrossEPG is a plugin the retrieves the EPG from the Internet. Displaying the EPG is CoolTVGuide or the Default EPG viewer. So which one are you using ?

It doesn't matter which I use, they both lag. Currently I am just checking to see if the external drive I am using has a problem and that might be causing the lag.

The other issue is when I am recording a HD channel and watching a HD channel at the same time. It stutters a little bit from time to time and I get some video corruption. Anyone else have that problem? I have tried recording to a usb key, external drive and a network drive, the same thing happens.

Well, I have moved from Champions Hyperion image to the Open PLi image with the Judder fix.

It works really well, haven't had any problems installing plugins or anything like that. hard disk works fine even though I had the space full indicator even though it wasn't near full :-)

My only issue is with the cross epg, it seems to lag a lot and is very slow to navigate through. The other problem is the black spaces where there is no channels, is there any way to get rid of these?

Sounds like CrossEPG is saving to local flash and not hdd

Yeah I checked that, it's definitely set to save to HDD.

You sure it's doing so, delete the CrossEPG directory contents and see does it rebuild it

Yeah it's definitely doing it to the hard disk.

In situations like this I'd do a backup and reflash to see if it sorts it

Thanks Smee, I might try that later but I am sorta hoping that it's a hard drive problem. Will find out when I finish the scan on the drive.

How are you scanning the drive? Is it ext3? Enigma will be much better with Ext3 as it's a native linux format

I must say I am pretty impressed with the VU+ XBMC add on.

I have configured it to my Amiko A2 and now my XBMC is acting as a PVR front end.

Just wish I had nice neat bouquet configured on my A2, currently I don't have this done, so every time I start the LiveTV app on my XBMC setup it is trying to autoupdate EPG for all channels which is hogging things a bit.

Scanning it using HDD regenerator program on my PC. No, it's fat32, but surely the read/write speed differences between the two file systems won't make that big of difference. And I always understood fat to be faster than ext3 for smaller file sizes (under 5mb)

Later when everything is setup and working nearly 100% I will be changing to ext3 anyway to be able to record larger programs.

Had any problems with Autotimer? I'm trying to series link corrie on itv HD but it keeps adding a timer for tv3 even though I've pointed it towards itv. Some other timers are not appearing at all too.

I have had no problems with the Autotimer so far, but then again I have only recorded a couple of things from bbc1 Hd and RTE2 hd. They all recorded fine.

I can try to record something tonight from ITV HD and see how it goes if you want?

If you could that would be a great, I suspect it could be a problem with CrossEPG or autobouquet.

that's fine, I can do that. I will set to record something later tonight and let you know how it gets on tomorrow.

Using champc's arp image, I can't seem to connect to box with vu+ player,

    Is user : root
    Password : pkteam

    ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 136 ✭✭reaper12

try root for both username and password.

pkteam is for the hyperion image.

try openAR for password if root doesn't work. I get so confused lol with all the different passwords.

Have you tried just doing quickconnect, as it will have remembered your logins from before. Also once when i was trying DCC to access the box, not for love nor money would it connect, so i tried filezilla and it connected first time. Try a different program to see.

Lets go back to basics here, what IP is the box, what IP is your router, can you ping the box from your laptop?

I managed to acces the box eventually, I turned dhcp on on the box and it seemed to work??

Thanks to all for the help, now to sift the thread for the saorview settings I need to use.

    Thanks again.
