Does anyone use spark only? Just the latest firmware makes it a lot better than the version that was originally on the box.

Anyone else's autobouquets not updating properly? Seems any channels that's changed frequency in the last few days are greyed out even after doing multiple scans and download the epg again.

You're not understanding fully, when championc says streaming not working he means streaming from the box over your wifi to pc/laptop/tablet, not dependant on your broadband connection at all, uses your wifi

Thanks for the tip. My streaming experience is based on using the Vu+ app on my iphone. Never really gave it a proper go.

I have a white viewing card from sky, if I plug that into the Amiko can it be used in anyway? Does it help with the EPG or anything like that?

*edit* I don't have a sky subscription any more.

A white card is used to reorder channels on a Sky Box, it has no use in this box as you can already put the channels in any order and CrossEPG does the EPG

Just setup CrossEPG. Just select the single 28.2 OpenTV Provider. This should give you a full 7 day epg for all channels. Remember to schedule it to run Daily.

I'm using championc's image, the 1 channel plugin crashes when i try do searches either going into alphabet or doing manual search. ice films plugin working perfectly. I don't see anyway to check settings on this plugin, any ideas? thanks.

I had the same, it happens my every few months, there's been lots of changes in the last few days. Do a full scan on satellite with wipe before scan and network enabled, reboot, then run autobouquets, reboot, then force download CrossEPG and you'll have all channels with EPG (may need reboot again).

There have been some performance issues reported with it, transparencies are heavy images

It goes in /usr/share/enigma2/ if you find a version compatible with your image

Kerni HD is what I always use, it's the default in champions images. The performance of it is great, no lag

There must be something else wrong if you cannot manually install it. It's not a plugin which changes much.

HDMU = Python 2.6 / OE 1.6
AR-P & Hyperion = Python 2, 7 / OE 2.0

I have championc's Hyperion image installed, is there a VLC plugin available where I can stream from my laptop to the Amiko? Would like to stream Netflix from my laptop to the Amiko - thanks.

Thanks to Champion for the hyperion image. And thanks to Smee again and anyone else who replied to my questions. I guess thanks to everyone on this board :-)

I have got my Alien up and running perfect now on the Hyperion image, have noticed a little bit of judder but it isn't too bad. It was a lot of hair pulling and frustration but worth it I think in the end.

So far, I have confirmed that following works:

1. Tsmedia - Icefilms, 1Channel ...
2. Autotimer
3. CoolTV EPG.
5. Judder free HD pictures running at 1080p 50Hz.

This image is very similar in operation to AR-P, which I prefer to Hyperion - It's simple to use.
The Alien 2 finally works Great with E2!

Yeah, it's a pity about web interface not working on it (therefore no streaming) , is what's keeping me waiting for a better image

Streaming is not a big show stopper for this image, however the judder fix means a lot more people can now have a choice of either Spark/E2.
I hope that there will be better images released, but for now in my option this is the best image available for the Alien2.
