Anyone know if the GameStop trade in offer is still on?

Have a few games on the list I don't play anymore, how much does it knock off the price?

I'm going for the GameStop Exclusive edition btw.

Just looking at the thread stats, and there are only 11 people who hold over 100 posts on this thread (keeping in mind this is the same thread that's been around since 2010).

I think I'm 5th highest up (not that I'm too fussed, but didn't realise how much I'd posted about the game over the last while). Even though it's all sunshine and lollipops now, I still think Rockstar gave us the finger pretty hard when they released the initial trailer to get more interest in Max Payne 3.

It's mad to think it's only a couple of days away now. I'm actually not that excited. I'm looking forward to it but it's not a case anymore of time going really slowly by or anything. The last couple of days (and today) seem to be flying past. Maybe it's just because my day-to-day life is busier, but I'm not getting the 'these will be the longest days of my life' feeling I got with IV and SA, VC, etc.

Yea trade in welcome I'm always told, I traded in the new splinter cell once I finished the story mode, wasn't gonna play it online anyway and got 37.50 knocked off the order price!

I doubt it, I'd say they'd have it announced already as the majority of people buying this have their copies pre ordered already. It's only worth it for them to pay for that if they can convince PS3 users to switch straight away

I always wondered if that worked out for them or not (the exclusive DLC thing).

Seemed like an amazing amount of money to throw at R* for something that would likely have not made that big of a return to Microsoft.

If the entire game itself was exclusive to one console I could understand some people might buy a 360 as they can't get it on PS3, but I'm not convinced many people would buy a 360 for a bit of DLC (unless they owned both consoles already, in which case, I don't think MS would benefit much from GTA IV selling more 360 copies than PS3 ones?)

There's been something stuck in my head for the last day or two. It was a comment I read about IV a couple of days after it came out.

I'm not sure if it was on Boards I read it? Was it you!? (just curious to see was it someone in here).

It was something to the effect of:

As one of my friends put it, GTA IV is like building a lighthouse in a toilet. Technically, it's an amazing achievement, but ultimately... meh.

Still going yeah, trade in 2 games off the list and get it for €9.99, it is only the standard edition it applies to though.

It's cool seeing the amount of people who are fitting GTA V into their now adult lives. I reckon I was 12/13 when I first played the original. 3, Vice City and San Andreas were various stages of my teens and then 4 when I'd just started working.

It's amazing that GTA is causing those who are my age (28) and a little older to turn back the clock a bit. We're all like excited teenagers again!

Im so looking forward to seeing what it actually looks like graphically. I never use my PS3 these days, have not for several years, but Ive kept it just for GTA V. I was playing GTA IV on my PS3 yesterday just to see what it was like, and it a horrible blocky pixelated mess. I then went straight onto my PC and played the same game but at 1440p with the max graphics mods etc and its just like an entirely different game. All textures are readable, viewing distance is amazing and its smooth. So Im really wondering what this is going to be like, especially considering the enormous map! I will still buy it for PC when its out though, cos thats what Im really waiting for!

Well I've seen the leasked gameplay vids. Nothing spoilerish but one thing I laughed at was franklin was running toward a cop trying to kill him .

He jumped and gave a full head but into him . looked epic

I think it's just more of a 'one-up' over Sony for all the fanboys to brag about.
There wouldn't be a massive amount of financial gain more than the other company, but its the ability to say "look what WE have!..... First."

I'd say Microsoft could have done it again if they weren't throwing all their money at that ridiculous new COD game. -_-
