RE gambling: I can see myself working with 2 or so people to force an unknown out of a game of cards then again I could just shoot him.

We're likely going to be the same. We had allocated a certain amount of stock to on the day purchases at our venue but we're going to be dipping into that for extra website stock.

BTW - We're looking at end of September for wave 2. There is no stock available at all for delivery week of / week after release.

Are your suppliers still not giving you the games until Monday? I think that is very unfair and puts a lot of pressure on Gamesnash to get them all out in the space of a few hours. Even a special delivery on Sunday would have made it a bit easier for you lads.

It's a bit of a nightmare tbh but this is all the way through the supply chain.

We've had to think outside the box processing wise. We're starting packing on Thursday but "packing" will consist of labelling, packing slips, postage labels etc and then into holding containers. Plan then is that all we will be doing with the GTA delivery is dropping games into envelopes, sealing and into the postal bags which will alllow us to process a lot more than we could normally handle in one day. We've also a contingency late drop off direct to Dublin mail sorting centre organised as a backup. As stressed as we are about it I'm quietly confident we can process everything in time.

Was talking to gamestop earlier and apparently R* have an issue with the whole pay before midnight and then collect the game after 12 thing they were doing, that's madness if they'll expect everyone to line up and pay after 12 so if you have it pre-ordered or games to trade against it do it over the weekend or else we'll be there all bloody night

That is absolute madness. I've said it before, but R* are being a bit too precious over the launch date.

They're clearly putting retailers out (especially the smaller ones), which will invariable impact some customers.

The retailer has paid for the stock, I've reserved the game, does it really matter if I pay for it now, at midnight next Monday, at 9am on Tuesday or if Tom up the street gets his copy in the post a few hours before any of that?

Rock* really seem to have a lot of clout over this. I think not actually releasing games until 12 but paying before is a perfectly good solution.

Imagine 800 people queing up and paying starting at 12 midnight....yikes

Kinda happy im collecting mine the Tuesday morning....ill go to bed like its Christmas eve :-)

I cannot blame Rockstar over this, when you consider the scale this game is on it's not out of order for them to want everything to be exactly perfect.

I don't see how inconveniencing customers and retailers is making things "perfect".

Does this mean I won't be able to pay off the remainder of my preorder tomorrow?

They're trying to make sure it doesn't get leaked completely before the 17th.

Obviously depending what side of the fence you're on it looks different.

My mate has played GTA V already! Im so jealous!

Ok - we've turned pre orders back on but we are literally down to our last 50 copies on each console. As I mentioned earlier now is the time to pre order if you haven't done so already (and that goes across all retail channels from what I'm hearing at this point so it's not just us pimping our own site)

PS If anyone has ordered off us can you double check your order status is boards.ie priority pick and PM me if it doesn't. We will be processing the boardsie orders in the next couple of days.

You mean like it already has? When Sony allowed people to pre-download the game on PS3, people messsed around with the files and managed to get access to all the audio files.

It still makes absolutely no difference to R* if someone gets it in the post a few hours early on Monday or if someone pays the game off in full before collection at midnight/Tuesday.

Everyone's paying the asking price, so why should we be expected to jump through extra hoops for it?

I said the same to the GS guy, I've been on the R* retail side before for both Vice City and SA and they do get a bit uppity about it. Whatever about only letting it to stores on Monday but telling places people must queue after midnight only is a bit gowly on their part.
Surely they'd want people buying and playing the game as soon after midnight as they can? at this rate you'll be in a shop for an hour or more and knowing my luck I'll be behind someone trading in a dozen games :pac:

People accessed some of the audio files.

That's a far cry from a playable copy.

but even if it did, so what? its not like everyone will cancel their pre-orders, people will still buy the game, at worst what happens, someone leaks pics of things? Big deal.

I hear ya, I was on the business end of the till for GTA IV's launch, a nightmare of a day if ever there was one.

That's the thing I don't understand - people are tripping over themselves to give them money, why make it more difficult for the customer.

To be honest, if I can't pay the game off in advance then I'm gonna skip midnight and just pick it up in the morning when the hubbub has subsided a bit.

It was enough for people to find out the ending though. A few people on reddit have had it spoiled on them because of that.

I'm gonna go in and pay off my order in the morning and if it's first come first served I'll either get there really early or stroll in way after 12, at this rate Tesco is looking a better bet, gahh what to do. Realistically I'm not gonna stay up all night playing it so I could just get it Tuesday morning and plough into it for the day, but I do love a good midnight opening :pac:

The Blimp pre-order bonus downloaded last night for me, 100KB down 18GB to go.

The game itself is meant to be available from the 13th but as the DLC was meant to show up after the 16th it might come early, I obviously won't be able to play but it'll make downloading the game easier before the release date.

Makes sense, the psn servers are slow as sh1te at the best of times so trying to download on the 17th would be impossible

    Nail on the head.

As I said already (possibly on here!), the defence for R* is that what happens of some one gets it early and post negative stuff about it and it puts a few people off? What happens is precisely nothing; this is possibly going to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time. Even if a few people saw a video and said "oh, actually it's not for me I won't buy it now" there's still going to be literally millions of people salivating at the tills to get this.

And big deal if someone leaks a few videos - there's no difference to a video popping up online on Monday compared to the thousands that'll be popping up online on Tuesday.

And! If you got the game on Monday, how far into it could you go to reach proper spoilers?

I'm just saying that enough of the game has already leaked.
