god the difference in grazing rotations now that the calves are getting stronger is unreal, paddocks that were lasting 3 days are now struggling after 2 days:eek:

wish the fcuking calves would cop on, that the wire is lifted, and there is a trough full of meal the other side,

    looking for some advice

thinking about buying a hefier for the freezer
how old would you need her to be?
what sort of weight would be ideal?
what sort of money would you expect to pay for a hefier that was ready to go to the butcher?
how much does a butcher cost to kill/bag the hefier
if need must i could fatten her up at my brothers place then split the herfier with him.
am i mad to be even thinking about going down this line

Dont know about buying a heifer as we raise our own yiu wont regret it and its well worth the money to us saying that we dont buy the animal and the heifer gets to run with rest of the cattle.

Send a private message to butcher boy. He'l know straight off the right class and size of heifer for to fit in domestic freezer

Cheers dev where would us sucklers be without you dairy boys;)
I want the calves to eat it, not the cows, if the cows get a taste at all they will be heard bawling in Kilkenny

Calves know its there and I let them in to it a few evenings , fcukers won't come under the wire is all

Try saving a few days, the cost of the envelope, cost of the stamp and the trudge to the post box, by emailing them -;)
Fill up the order form. Scan it and save as a PDF file. Email the lot to them, along with your precious credit card details.
Then wait for the phone call. "We got your email, but can't open the attachment" -;)
    It's fukkin ridiculous!
Asked the clowns in the end, if it would help if I sent my five year old, down there to open the friggin file for them. Totally Stone Age operation.

i thought my mother was the only one that did that when we were younger, she even took to wheeling the tv into the 'good room' when she went to work at night and locked the door so we would study. Little good it did .:D
