Going for a few pints went on a tree top assault obstacle course today for 3hours. The farmer whipped the fireman and ex county hurler round the course.

Ugh waiting for the vet now, the cow is 2 1/2 wks early and hasn't opened up much at all, but legs out since the afternoon. Not a great start, or a good way to be spending my Saturday evening ha!

Used a mix of ABO, PBM and LHZ when serving last winter, just had a quick look at the list now, and almost all held to PBM! Can't complain, he has a decent EBI, most the expected calves are around the 200 ebi.
    how did it go?

Spent about 3 hours trying to loosen the engine oil filter in the Landcruiser. Broke a chain wrench in the process. Eventually got it with a C-clamp. First time doing it. Garage might be a better option next time.
Off to Dublin in the Morning. Time to get the hang sanwiches and tae ready. C'mon the Banner!

I think Clare will give it a right good rattle and have a bit much for Limerick.

Moving the 2 big ears today and managed to cream my left knee on the trailor door. The same one I injured in the gym at Christmas as well as wacking it off a pub table during the May bank holiday. At this rate I'll be crippled before the end of the year:mad:. As it is I'm sat here with an ice pack, so my plans for a few scoops in town appear to have taken a beating too:(

Dead calf :(, say he was dead afew days, hence why she calved early. The calf came out without too much pressure with the jack in the end, but she was fairly wild, wouldn't have managed to jack him on myown. Only getting that new calving shed setup now, and we could have done with a calving gate/crush badly, must put one in soon!

Have you ever tried a rope halter? Put it on in the crush. Let her out and tie her up in a shed.

Or tie it in the crush and let her out with it wrapped around the front pillar . No escape for her and easier than trying to catch her again in the shed

I'd give my left testicle to be in Croker for the match tomorrow. Going to head to u21 semi I think in thurles to make up for missing it. Flathead screwdriver ant a hammer would have taken the filter off a bit quicker ;)

Put a rope on her 1stly to catch her, then the halter, and tied her with both to a post, while we were jacking the calf she started jumping around like mad, I only spotted after that she snapped the halter (which was brand new!), but lucky the rope kept her in place.
