    I though t-rex, got a belt of a meteorite, a few million years ago:eek:
5 Stars for docility. He would not even need a belt of a stick.
I think his straws can be bought handy enough. I think his owner has even posted on here before.;)

What's the point in wasting a day going to look at them if he's looking for stupid money when u get there.
you ring him and ask him, put us all out of our misery or you could offer him 3k each over the phone

hard to know the right way about it, i think alot of lads feel if a fella is genuine about buying cattle he will call to see them before ever asking about price, in reality though as you say most lads want an idea of price before travelling. i sold a bull earlier this spring, had nothing but wasters calling, several promised they were coming to see him but none did, eventually i put up a price with him and the next lad that called bought him that evening.

hmm 30 non-registered heifers put in calf by t-rex? seems fishy to me

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,242 ✭✭✭iverjohnston

DAS is paid at 100%, minus any "modulation". Usually last week August-ish, I thought?

Hopefully it might lift cattle prices, but I'd fear it'll be all used up all over paying off bills. Talking to lads around there seem to e more and more unpaid bills hanging over from the extended feeding last spring.

Mine will disappear into a feed bill and fert bill this year. First year ever as we normally stuff it away for leisure activities.:mad:

I thought it was for buying holiday homes in turkey even though I think there was a lad using it to buy vintage tanks that was on the late late one time .
My old lad lives of his and complains then that there is no money out of farming , I dont know how he lived before the sfp !

plenty of flies around this last few days... counting the cattle took extra long this morning as little lad wanted to pick all the blackberries, wont be bringing him tomorrow:o

Not a slush fund we farm to make a profit from it not subsidise it. Thats the reason I get up every Wednesday at 4.00am to go to the factory. We never spend foolishly and in every job you get holidays. I put some or most of this money for that it means that I dont go around not paying other bills so I can have a bit of reality in our life. If you take the funds you use for other that farm activities I bet it is a fair amount and take out the SFP would you still do it if not then you are at the same game as us only fooling yourself that you are not.

Before SFP he lived of farming. And many others were able to do likewise. But let's not get started on how the introduction of various payments brought the industry down to where it is today.
