Had an interesting day of driving yesterday, was up North in Belfast etc and as I was coming home was on the Dublin road i.e M1, ended up stuck behind some arse in a Vauxhall Corsa 1996 vintage, idiot was doing 40mph in the outside lane.

Spent so long trying to get past him, I ended up missing the turn off for the M1 and ended up taking a 160km/h detour down towards Omagh and Enniskillen. Ended up in Monaghan and took the N2 all the way back to Dublin.

Fun times, still though 310 miles, fully laden 1.6 156 and 36mpg average. Car did the miles with ease and I'm chuffed, not one problem with it. :)

Whilst guilty of missing the turn myself you made a horses ass of that one. You could have skipped off for Portadown or even Craigavon and made your way back through Newry and onto the REAL M1.

    Anyway,

Cheers to the white van outside Thurles who decided to not stop at the junction at Donal Ryan's, not look left, pull out anyway, for me to either run into the back of him or, as I did, swerve around him and pray to God there was nothing coming.

Oh and cheers for flashing your lights and giving me the fingers as I screeched past trying to stop the car.

    /rant over

That happened to me once. Driver went to give me grief too. After I quietly and politely pointed out what they did and what would have happened if I hit them, they went off fairly mute with their tail between their legs.

No it wasn't the pink panther either.....

Pipercross air filter on the way. Wonder if I'll hear a difference...or whether a cold air intake will be next on my list!

    random question time folks

How likely do you think a dealer is to accept a swap/trade in of similar value to the car on sale?

If he can make money on it is say he'd be open to it.
Would you not sell it privately?
And tell me it's not the bmw?

They'll always need a margin, so realistically you'd be expecting to swap into something of less value.
Thankfully value is subjective a lot of the time.
