Has anyone tried a Williams Bros. Midnight Sun? Trying to decide if I want that or an Oxman tonight. I could have both this makes it more interesting.

Oxman is more "interesting" but I quite like Midnight Sun myself.

Currently I'm having a Madness IPA by Wild Beer.
Loads of hops and, as a result, quite similar to Punk.

I've had an O'Hara's Pale Ale to start. I've said it many times before but for me it really is up there as one of the best hoppy pale ales. The large bottle makes it good value too in comparison to some of the big names like Goose Island, which I also really enjoy. I used to find O'Hara's quite bitter but these days I pick up a lot more of the malty sweetness. Funny how one's palette develops.

My thoughts on Midnight Sun: you can pick up just a hint of the ginger when you smell it. It's quite curious how the spiciness of the ginger masks the toastiness of the cereals. I'm not sure it's one I'd buy regularly though. A little invasive perhaps.

I'm in Liverpool and went to a small bar near the hotel where I drank 2 pints of
    Springhead Roaring Meg.

Really strange colour a pale yellow could smell citrus and sweet honey easily from it.

Tasted ok slight sweet taste reminded me of peaches and a nice bitter aftertaste similar to grapefruit.
Tiny hop kick too which was nice. It's 5.5% so for a "summer ale" I thought it was strong.

I tried 2 new Konas today, after my success with the other 3. Started with the Longboard larger, which disappointed me, it was very plain, but Kona Big Wave Golden Ale was delicious. That could easily be my new favourite 'easy' beer.

Currently enjoying Kentucky Bourbon Barrel ale. Very nice but not sure I'll be having a second. At 8.2% it packs quite a punch.

Its stored in barrels that previously held bourbon. Has almost a biscuity flavour.

Brew Dog's Hashtag is rather nice, dark, rich, a little nutty, almost porter-like.

Having a hoptimum now. Really like it, similar to a torpedo but maybe more bitterness and lighter (although id love to do a side by side)

Visited against the grain today, had

Barney flats oatmeal stout by Anderson valley - delish
Burocracy by brewfist - nice and bitter
    Buried at sea
#MashTag - as others have said quite subtle for a brewdog brew and at over 7%
Double dog DIPA - seriously heavy brew
Snpa - have had it a few times on draught and prefer the bottle tbh.

My missus had a sunburnt on tap and complained it tasted cidery, she was dead right. Given some of the complaints in here recently I wonder if thr brewery are slipping

Relaxing in the holiday home in Cornwall this evening with a bottle of Aspalls medium dry.
Only £1.79 in the supermarket earlier.
Probably heating up to the St Austell brewery on Monday to pick up a case of their limited edition Big Job!

Had porterhouse louder last night on cask. They had it up as an ipa for some reason.
It was an amazing beer, but the fact that they had it as an ipa ruined it for me. I was looking forward to hops!:(
I'd definitely go for it again though as it was easy to drink even though it was 11%.
Then had a franziskaner in Lincoln inn. My go to beer tasted very watery. Maybe it was just a bad one (hopefully) as its cheap in lidl.
Then had a proper job ipa on cask in the brewdock and a raging bitch. Hops at last!:)
Raging bitch was worlds apart from the proper job as well.

Which porterhouse had it ? I was looking for it last week in a porterhouse pub to no avail.

Agree with you adam about SN S.Harvest. Surely the N.Harvest will be floating around here soon....Boy that was a good beer

    The one on Nassau st.
    It's on the cask board.
It's a great beer I was just disappointed as I was looking for hops and was wondering why is got something that tasted more like a porter than an ipa.

Cheers, its supposed to be a barleywine that's probably why you were disappointed. They are never mad hoppy beers. Have to give porterhouse props for doing a beer like that, cant imagine it would be a great seller.

I'm having the O'Hara's barrel aged Leann Follain. It's pretty fantastic. It's been too long since I've had the Fransiscan Well Jameson Stout to compare, but suffice to say it's put just as much a smile on my face.

Basically every week or 2 I try at new beer/ale that I never had before.

This week my local is stocking a few beers from Marstons brewery.

I am at the moment trying their Old Empire IPA. Very nice indeed.

    Anyone else do something similar?

    London Pride guv' nor, laaaavely

Ah I found out a few mins into drinking it thanks to a bit if googling.
I enjoyed it and would have it again, in fact I'd drink it all night. That'd be a very messy night.
What they did by brewing it though is one of the reasons I love craft beer.
I rarely drink the same thing twice if I'm out (too many beers and not enough days to drink them all :()

I'd a pint of Howling Gale in The Black Sheep on Wednesday and it was fine.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

My first thought was what was connected on the line before the sunburnt? Perhaps a cider of some sort? Currently sipping a bottle of HG and it's lovely, might have another before I go to bed :)

According to their FB page J.W.Sweetman now also offer growlers. They are doing an introductory price of €19.95 for the growler and the fill.
TAKE-AWAY BEER GROWLERS! Authentic 64 oz GROWLERS (4 pints) have arrived in from the USA!
Intro Offer: €19.95 for a J.W. Sweetman branded Growler full with 4 pints of J.W. Sweetman craft beer to take home with you and enjoy!
Refills: €12………Go on sale on Monday!..........

Someone made the point on FB that 64 oz's does not equal 4 irish pints, their reply is below.
From our calculation an Irish pint is 20 oz as is the British pint. We do fill the Growler beyond the 64 oz marker on the bottle to avoid oxidation (to keep it fresh) and this marker is quite far down the bottle. Our team have tested it many times and the bottle does hold 4 Irish pints.....

Had a pint each of St Austell Tribute and Sharp's Doombar with lunch today.
    Lovely.

Had two pints of Bo Britle pale ale today. Could do with more aroma hops but certainly had a nice zesty bitterness to it
