Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Seeing as there is already a thread on ads we hate-and there are a lot of them-I just thought I'd start one on the ads we might actually like(this will probably be a short thread coz most of them are crap nowadays and the best are from decades ago).

    I think the Snickers ads with Joan Collins are hilarious....
    The one about broadband when he is trying to talk to his girlfriend on the laptop but her signal keeps breaking up and she is only getting bits of what her boyfriend is saying.....

    The AIB ad where you see a helicopter view of Dublin's Custom House and George's Quay.....

    I generally like the ads for Gillette Venus where girls are showing off their freshly shaved legs. I love them ones. But sometimes I think my missus is looking at me as I'm looking at the telly to see if I'm enjoying it too much, so I do be a bit awkward looking at it. Sometimes I hurt my eyes as I'm pretending to be looking in the other direction. But I've nailed the technique now.

    Aer Lingus - "You're Home 1990" - played it for my 11 yr old boy and he was wiping away the tears . Possibly the best Irish ad ever .

    Saw a lovely ad with no talking in it for Cesar Dog Food-with an old man and his little canine friend.There's a part in the ad where they are visiting a loved one in the graveyard-the old man leaves flowers on the grave and looks to be about to cry,and then the little dog starts licking his hand as if to say "Don't be sad".

    That new one for Specsavers is faìr funny-the one where me wan brings her big stereo to the old folks home,blares it out loud and starts doing all her dance moves,and the old people start copying her.....

    And another one,I can't remember what tis about but a giant hedgehog jumps out in front of a car,kicks the car and the front of the car bumper falls off...

    I'm liking the new Audi Quattro ad.

    I know 99% of Audis sold here are just pricey Skodas, however I think this ad works.

    Their ad men always make the car kook great, add to that the growl of their v10/v8 engine with Daft Punk / Tron soundtrack under it...... works for me, makes em very desirable (if unattainable!)

    I like the Specsavers ad, the one where the auld fella is sheering his sheep then he accidentally sheers his dog.


    If you look closely at the end of the ad when the dog stops and he runs away from the old man, due to the way the dog is placed it looks like the poor dog is missing a leg.
