    Tried to rescan the hd channels but they failed to reappear, they are still showing a signal on the bouquet though, I would take it they are gone though.

    has this announcement effectively removed al jazeera on hotbird as a viable sport alternative, had been contemplating putting up an 88cm dish and getting hotbird.

    I guess it'll depend on what's left on +1 to +4 and at what price. If the price was right with a good smattering of Bundesliga, Serie A, etc, it might still be worth a punt.

    Am I right in saying that the +1 - +10 channels are still broadcasting on 3.1e? I read it in another forum in the last hour. I have a 1.2 channel master dish fixed at 16e and I'll swing it around to 3.1 if there might be a chance of receiving it.

    If I'm wasting my time can someone let me know! I'm in North Louth BTW.

    Seems like the only way to get it now. If I can get an XBMC plugin to view them with an Al Jazeera online sub will be the same net result.

    Either that or NC+ to fill in the gaps as they have NFL also according to the NFL site.

    AlJazeera online will only broadcast to same Arab countries based on IP. You would need a proxy server (private or else forget) in one of those countries to access the service: http://www.en.aljazeerasport.tv/Blocked

    Better get Sopcast. Get links from http://livefootball.ws/ and you will have even 720p. The more users the better signal in this P2P.

    Let's all ask Sopcast to issue a linux MIPS(processor arch in routers) binary and your router could do all the work gathering the stream. No UI overhead. Your XBMC will point to your router to get the broadcast. Else you can run on a PC Linux or Windows.

    I wouldn't say this is the end of the story with Al Jazeera on 13E ie the channel dropping etc.

    I would say we will see more changes over the coming week.

    Speculation wise, if the HD channels continue to exist on 13E, they will be encrypted in Viaccess 5 requiring the proprietary Humax box.

    Lets wait and see.

    There's an okish spread of football across the 4 channels left on hotbird

    Barca vs santos tonight for example. But Sheffield utd vs notts co is on hd6

    Tomorrow burnley Bolton on +4 & qpr Sheffield w on +3. And Dutch league on + 3 also. French league on + 3 next Friday too.

    May not be all bad so. Be interesting when la liga starts back

    You can't really. And also I forgot is ngra3 and you need the box as well. I was thinking too much in the cs world. I guess that is the best option in the end.

    Scanned all these this morning, just to see and just picked up the 6 stations on Hotbird.

    I seem to also have Al-Jazeera Sports 1 on 26 on 12034/27497/H

    I also have some other JSC Sports on Hotbird eg JSC Sports +6 on 11296/27500/H

    Can we get a strong signal to arabsat badr6 in Ireland? If yes will a 1.2 metre dish be ok? I don't need the EPL but if I can have it as a bonus for the same price why not :)

    Another question folks, is there any website where we can renew the aljazeera sport +1 to +4 only on hotbird?

    I dont know about a 1.2m dish, but on a 1.1m dish you can only get Badr 4 afaik.
