This morning 227 was pushing the Enterprise in HEP mode.

233 was swapped out for 206 on the 11:00 ex Connolly, EGV on the set.

Later at 13:00 8208 was at Connolly with another set with an EGV. 071 and 233 were at the shed.

That's 2 EGV back in action.

Any update on the status of 230?

Still in York Road. Repairs won't begin until it's hauled to Inchicore after the investigation into the fire is complete. Safe to say that if it ever does run again it won't be any time this year.

Does anyone know if a 201 operated the cork Dublin around half eight/nine on Friday night ? I can hear the trains from my house which I shouldn't but I think I heard a 201 idling away which is a sign of something I think.

8208 and 220 were at the shed in Connolly this evening at 17:00.

At the same time 081 was held at East Wall junction waiting for a path to Drogheda the evening empties. It's cabs are in a bad sate with lots of body filler visible.

Anyone have any idea on 228's status. It has not been out in a long time and is suspected to be in for a major overhaul in Inchicore but I reckon it must be about a year out of service at this stage.

8208 looked lined up to pull an enterprise service out of Connolly this morning with what I assume is an EGV (non loco car putting out smoke) in tow

Yeah saw it there at 7:20. At 17:00 it was at the shed having a dellner coupler fitted to it. It seems to be getting changed out a good bit.

    219 on cork services

227 was on an EGV set at 7:30 this morning at Connolly. At 16:45 207 was on another EGV set with DVT 9004 at Connolly while 233 was the spare 201 at the shed.

081 crawled up Eastwall junction with 12 empties at 16:50 waiting for a gap in the evening rush on the northern line.

Unidentified NIR 111 with unidentified Enterprise 201 in tow at Connolly shed earlier - was it 230 on its way to Inchicore for yet another rebuild? Was passing outside on the bus so only got a quick glimpse of the rooflines

219 on return heuston service through the curragh about an hour ago

Great photo moment if anyone had a camera this morning at Connolly. All outside the shed at 7:00 was 206, 207 and 8208. 233 was on the 7:35 service ex Connolly. At 16:10 206 and 8208 were gone while 207 was still on standby with 227 arriving with a down service.

That was all currently operational Enterprise equipped 201s spotted in Connolly in one day. (209 HEP issues, 228 overhaul and 230 fire damage)

I've a question about the 201s. Now the 141s,181s, and the 071s had a walkway down the side and the driver etc could go from one cab to the other using that walkway. My question is can someone go from one cab to the other without getting off the loco ?

You can walk through the engine room of a 201 but its quite cramped very hot and very noisy

It was only a matter of time but with all EGVs back in service, today 209 was in charge of the 7:35 ex Connolly.

It was used during the test phase of the EGV's too so no major surprise there. Would be nice to see it emerge as 8209 in the new colour scheme, along with 206.... Who knows....

That's the main reason it was used during the testing, so NIR could get their second 201 back to what it was bought to do. If the EGVs hang in there for a year or so without issued NIR might consider repainting 209.

I like the yellow face Enterprise livery of 207 and 233 and hope they stay that way for a few years yet.

They are considered 'a common fleet' dont forget, only the TPWS keeps the NIR owned locos 'supposedly' on the Enterprise

    Totally agree on 207/233 though

209 + EGV on the 11:00 ex Connolly this morning - booting it through Killester !!!

I am sure this has been covered but I am made curious with that 201 class booting along.

With the external generators, will the Enterprise now accelerate faster and generally have more omph!!!!!?

It's more to do with having a clear path ahead / no DARTS holding it up.

In theory it should but whether it'll be noticeable or not, I have no idea.
