Yeah that Waterford game will feature a lot in team talks before the match - hadn't we beat them by 25 odd points down there the year before as well??

Hopefully injuries will clear up - not sure if Terry will be tempted to make a few changes. Would hope he would start with best 15 available as London will make it tough especially early on - its hard to know what shape London will be in after losing Connaught final 6 days previous.

If things are going well, and that's a big if, I'd love to see some of the younger panel members like Conroy and Barry Reilly get a run.

McVitty and Argue have certainly earned the right to a few minutes as well.

Absolutely agree - McKeever will probably get a half too and rightly so..

if Seanie Johnston came back he would get some serious treatment in games...still a lot of resentment from many Cavan people against his decision last year.

i think that was my worst ever occasion to witness meltdown
its worth noting that cavan were 1/25 for that game too and waterford came up eating mars bars and drinking cans of coke and were good value for their win

this group is different though these lads are of a winning mentality and they will pull through because from 1 to 35 all of these lads have the belief that they can do a job

we have the physicality on the bench in mc cutcheon and mc keever should we need it !!

raging i'm going to miss the game but somebody has to tell bruce springsteen that terry is 'the boss' now

Do all the Gaels people want him back though? I heard he had split the club and had as many critics as supporters.

I don't think Mulvey would make the Cavan team. He wasn't good enough a few years back so I can't see him being good enough now.

To first question - in my honest opinion - yes, in a heartbeat - he is still to be seen regularly at Terry Coyle - also plays the gaels golf classic every year.

Lorcan Mulvey would be a good addition to the panel if he came home.

I knew about the golf classics alright and I know he's still friends with most of the Gaels panel.

In fairness to the lad, I've heard he does stellar work with the kids in Breffni college at football.

I just think he'd be a real target for opposing fans and players in club matches.

I don't agree re Lorcan. He struggled to make the staring 15 when we were struggling to win a game in championship so I can't see what he'd add now.

He primarily played midfield and the options you have there now are McKiernan (when fit), Givney, Corr, O'Reilly, McEnroe, Argue and Leddy. Then others like McKeever and McCutcheon can't make the staring 15 but would keep Mulvey out of it.

How many from cavan will travel up for this? irst big croker match in years and you are hot favs, would 10-15k be possible? I'd say a lot of cavan folk living/working in dublin will go as well.

I'd like to see london win as a neutral but they'd not stand a chance in the quarters so for that reason I'd love to see Cavan progress with a poor enough performance and come into the quarters under the radar. Hopefully you'll make an all ireland semi this year. Monaghan v Cavan quarter or a Cavan v meath semi would be epic. just hate seeing the usual big teams progress almost every year.

I'd say at this stage it would be fairly close to the 15k - as you say a lot of Cavan people based in Dublin will attend. I know that around 8 or 9 of my extended family have tickets based on this and I'd have to give them detailed directions to get to Breffni :pac:. Multiple this out a few times and reckon 15k would be a good guess. If Cavan beat London would expect a lot more for a quarter final..

I remember a few years ago when heading down for the U21 final against Galway, Cavan brought up to 20,000 supporters with them, a great atmosphere around Croker that day, shame about the result.

I reckon if we get to the quarter finals, particularly if it's against Monaghan, we'll surpass that easily.

I cant remember if it was this thread but someone was looking for the Ulster Final online; here it is above. Skip about 25 minutes into the stream for it

Good news for those in the UK / the Continent and some other places abroad (except Australia who have different arrangements and a small number random countries) who cannot make it home for the game nor recieve through Irish broadcasters who arent showing the match.

The official gaa rights holders Premier sports will be showing the Cavan v London game live online streaming here:
    http://www.premierplayer.tv/
its 9.99stg montly subscription, but its only a rolling month contract so you can get it to catch the remainder of the championship and then cancel if you want.
(FAAAAR better than the 20dollar per game that Setanta look for in the US)

also available as an add on subscription to Sky if you have a UK box

    see here for the confirmation.
    https://www.facebook.com/LondonGAA

NOTE TO MODS: this IS the official stream option for those abroad from the holders of the GAA rights so is not something which will get boards into trouble. see here: http://www.gaa.ie/gaa-news-and-videos/gaa-media-coverage/

I'd expect a good crowd this weekend alright. People I know who haven't attended a game in years are going.

One lad I know I'd being collected from the airport Saturday morning as the family are en route!

I hope you do. You'll be like the new Donegal who brought hordes of supporters with them last year! Nothing beats being there but nothing bests being there when your whole county gets behind the team!

I hope it's a Monaghan v Cavan quarter so one of these will at least make the semi's. The GAA needs new teams making the business end and this would guarantee it..

I hope for the same but for a different reason. I think if this Cavan team gets another go at Monaghan they will beat them. They should have won the last time they met only they shot too many wides.

should have at least gotten a draw, that decision by the ref at the end was a shocker

If you get down handy for Sunday morning there will be free meals given out at the hostel in Merchants Quay. They have taken on a lot of extra staff seeing Cavan are in town.
I'll get back to you with the name of the lad who hires out the jerseys for the day.

It's a pity all the food will go to waste with the game being on Saturday.

The ref's decision was annoying but in fairness I think that result was invaluable to us.

Hyland saw that we had too much reliance on Dunne and Keating and we've had 9 or 10 scorers in each of the matches since.

could have learnt that lesson from a draw... anyways it doesn't matter, what does matter is that they are motoring well. Ideal scenario now is to get through Saturday with a win and no injuries

And the bench used a bit.

Another thing I'd love is to win well to get confidence up. A few goals would be nice.

Mayo scored five and Joe Brolly said it wouldn't get any easier for London against us!
