    I didn't know that, I've heard a bit about him fighting in Bellator so I presumed they cut him. Weird decision on his part if that's the case.

    I think they did negotiate, but didn't agree a deal.

    I think Kongo was right to go. After losing his last fight he would have been looking at a pretty weak pay deal and he's never been a contender anyway.

    Better to go to Bellator and be a title contender than languish on UFC undercards playing out his career making other guy's names.

    I can understand the logic but that situation probably applies to 90% of the fighters in the UFC.

    I disagree.

    There are plenty of fighters who won't ever be title challengers in the UFC, but not many of them have the name recognition that Kongo has. And a lot of them aren't as late in their career as he is.

    Kongo is 38, might as well take an easier run now.
