Pity there's no way to keep some of the money away from Silva. Pathetic stuff from him tbh.

Don't forget that Dana has already said Silva would get an immediate rematch if he lost.

It's a shame for Weidman that people will probably look at this more as a fight that Silva threw away with his dlcking around rather than Weidman dominating him.

    Did Anderson just retire?

    Edit: Nope!

    That was surreal

They always said the geniuses were the craziest

Now he says he doesn't want a rematch at the title ?

Don't think he wants a rematch, maybe he'll go to 205?

    Lets be honest here.
Silva did throw it away. Weidman didn't dominate him.

I know, but Weidman still knocked him the F out. Silva has clowned around against a lot of people and still nobody could touch him. Weidman deserves more respect than I think he'll get.

Sad way for Silva's title reign to end in a way. Throwing away a fight that he was in control of.

He's a bit small for 205 though, isn't he? Jones would smash him.

GSP maybe at a catchweight if needed?

A tainted victory, but I suppose a victory nonetheless.

Whole thing feels very weird. Nice to see a guy like Weidman getting the title but you have to wonder. The fight was fairly surreal.

His previous fights at 205 would say otherwise.

Was he in control of it? He lost the first round and wasn't dominating the second.

Weidman was his biggest threat and Silva acted the b****x. He deserved exactly what he got.

    Tainted? Not a hope!

The vast majority of fights are finished because of one guy exploiting a mistake made by his opponent.

This is only different because the mistake was so pronounced.

The things he was saying before the fight, and then the behaviour before and during the fight were odd and almost a precursor of what was to come. His post match interview said it all, "tired" was the word, that he then says he doesn't want a rematch and has no plans to fight for the title again almost says it all.

In a way though it's a shame, a great shame. Despite the clowning, he did seem quite dominant on the feet and looked entirely capable of beating Weidman standing and he'd just stuffed a takedown too which is why it's a shame, that it's his attitude that lost him the fight.

I don't know how you analyse it, how much you blame Silva, how much credit you give Weidman, how much Silva's mindset going into the fight played a part, I suppose maybe it all played a part. It does breath new life into the middleweight division and, if he doesn't want a rematch, it leaves Silva with all sorts of options of what to do in the future.

His previous fights were not against top quality fighters, but against good grafters who were at the tail end of their careers anyway.
