Bikerguy where did you order yours? I need a pair. I think someone mentioned getting them from the US.

Yesterday I changed my steering bearings and front brakes. Thanks to http://www.wemoto.com/ for saving me a bunch of euros and Daniel in City Spares for giving me some grease for the bearings.

I drove through a tunnel for the first time a few months ago. Uploaded a video of it here www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HlBqs2Wmu8

Took the carbs off the Super Four as it sprung a leak from one of the fuel lines underneath. Had a spare set of carbs (with lines) that I had forgotten about, so the donor carbs were stripped and put onto my own. Stuck everything back together again but it's too late to fire up the bike now to see if it worked or not, so will have to wait til tomorrow.

Here's the hole where the carbs used to be...

and the work in progress on the kitchen table...(where else?) LOL :D

Lastnight i put the final coat on candy blue onto my mirrors.
Will spray the gloss lacquer on tonight and give it a day to dry.

Put the bike on the charger after storing it in the house while on holidays......hard to go away for 2 weeks the day or two after getting a new bike :)
So will have to blow the cobwebs of the bike tonight.

The mirrors were finally dry so i put them onto the bike.

As the GF's bike has been lying up for a while, and I need to use it for the foreseeable future, had to do a few bits over the last few days. Had a fuel leak and taking off the carbs and replacing various bits from a donor set fixed that. New lines and other misc bits put on and problem solved.

The speedo would only work up to 100kph and wouldn't go passed that, even if I was doing way over that, it didn't read it. Took the clocks apart and removed a family of spiders and some webs - problem solved.

There was a couple of the warning lights not working (indicator light didn't flash, side-stand light didn't work etc) so got a couple of new bulbs and while the clocks were dismantled to fix speedo, I replaced the bulbs - problem solved.

The battery was dead, I charged it, took it for a spin, stopped to get petrol and when I went to start it, still dead. So I went to Capital Motorcycles in Tullamore and got a new battery - problem solved.

Over the course of the day whenever I stopped, the bike kept cutting out, wouldn't idle at all. So after I did the clocks/bulbs I had a poke around with the idle adjuster and got her to tick over just nice - problem solved.

So all in all, been a productive couple of days. The Super Four is running sweet now. While out for a spin this morning, had a couple of compliments on how well it looked for a 20 year old bike. :D Only thing left to do is to get a new rear tyre. The one on it has been on it for a while and is squared off a bit, so want to get something soft and sticky for summer spins.

have the triumph stripped right down to check the valve clearances, 95% there and ironically, cant get clearance on one of the rightmost cam cover bolts due to the frame - inpromptu tool shopping on the way home today..!

need a 6mm one of these methinks:

    any ideas?

Today I replaced the clutch cable (inner and outer) on my Vespa PX200. On Saturday I noticed that the kickstart lever was pushing right down without any resistance and failing to engage and move the piston and turn over. Cable too tight me thinks, clutch was shifting ok apart from that.

Replaced the clutch cable this afternoon by attaching with electrical tape the old outer to the new one and fed both through the frame and out the bottom. Noticed the old outer was badly snagged in a few places around the headset area and it was time to replace it really. I greased the new inner cable and connected it - problem solved.

Fitted the extension bracket for the Brembo caliper to make it fit the 320mm EBC disc, bought it as a kit but the caliper that came with it was wrong for the NX650, fits nearly all Honda and Yamaha dirt bikes but not the NX650.
Rebuilt the caliper last night as well and made sure the seals were all good, found a small packet of red rubber grease to use when rebuilding it.

Since last weekend I have a oil leak at the back of the engine casing on my Vespa PX200, so I checked the carb box, found the petrol line attached ok but holding clip was down the fuel line and loose. Fixed that and noticed a tiny bit of oil/petrol at the back bottom of the carb box which I will now monitor. Got a new oil pump wheel last month so this may be the culprit but this area was nice and dry. Anyway I decided to clean the engine casing with wd40, was very dirty with 10 years worth of grime encased on it. This will help determine the route of the leak easier. Before I could clean I had to take off electric start motor, 3rd holding nut was a bitch to get at, had to loosen back shock and swing out of the way and then do a contortion act in a small space to get the nut loose. Vespas are obviously built by children with small hands:D...Eventually got redundant electric starter off and into the bin. I always use the kick starter so wont miss it.

Finally I gave the bike a good clean with wd40 and once over inspection as I'm going to Tramore Scooter Rally tomorrow and have to look good among all the shiny scooters.

Still doing valve clearances. Got a set of feeler gauges, but not really in the right range (they only go up in .05mm increments). So got a much better set of sizes; 16 blades between 0.05 and 0.35, however, whereas the 0.2mm doesnt fit, the combination of 0.15 + 0.05mm does... so I've no confidence in these set, sigh.

Have a micrometer on the way anyway, so hopefully be able to see what the heck is going on with them

I got an instant open air box on my Street Bob on Saturday when the air filter cover just sheered off from the filter leaving a nice big hole !! all happened out of the blue while I was driving, managed to catch it with my right hand and put it on my lap. Looks like it was partially made of a coke can !!

Ive often read that a clutch cable has gone and the person involved managed to get to work or home. How do you change gear without clutch cable?

Did you ever do a clutchless shift?
If you rev and then back the throttle off and shift at the same time you can change without using the clutch.
A pair of 6" vise grips will work if you grip the end of the wire and clamp them tightly. Or you could run a spare lubed and waterproofed clutch cable alongside the original and just swap them over if one breaks.;)
