Call round to me and I'll show ya!! :P :pac: God I've had to do that numerous times. I rarely bother with the clutch going up the gears at all these days.

After closer to 2 x decades than 1 of non-use, I finally got my re-painted Vespa on the road for the first time today. Got the form to tax it in the bag for this eve as well: last taxed 1994 !!

Just for spite, I kept the tatty original no plate :P







So far, so-so. Carb is acting the maggot a bit - running on a bit on the overrun. There again I haven't touched the engine. Ever.

No. Never had a clutch cable go ( YET ) I think I must practice that trick incase it does go.;)

Hardest part is getting it moving. After that its quite easy to move up through the gears. Try to plan your route to avoid traffic lights! Take it nice and slow and you won't have to come to a stop at them.

so after successfully changing my chain and sprockets 3 weeks ago. i noticed that id clocked up 5000kms on the hornet. so decided to give it a service (piece of piss i thought). so got the materials plugs,filters,oil...etc.. and headed up to the mothers where theres a better selection of tools than i have, and some of the most brilliant mechanical minds of the 21st century (if you believe all their stories) just in case i get into trouble......! so every thing goin hunky dory ,drained the oil,air filter,oil filter. plugs were a bit of a pain. took longer than i thought .all the while being told that i have it easy and that on some of the older bikes you have to take parts off the frame just to put an air filter in. but i didnt need any help..... so just about all done and feeling rather chuffed with myself and all thats left is to top up the oil. so put the funnel in and started pouring. i knew the bike took about 3.5 litres so gave it a good drop and then checked the level. which read 0..? WTF i thought....must be the angle of the paddock stand.... so poured some more..... to which the uncle says. how much did that oil cost ye.....? fooking nearly 50 euro i said...... well uv just poured 50 euro down the drain ye dope...... what r you on about ye auld bollox i said..... so rather than point out that id left the ****ing plug out...... he has to call over anybody and everybody. bassicaly ended with 3 grown men stand over me while i fumble with plug and lovely clean oil pissing out of my bike. and then i get the classic line......... you wont make that mistake again. ****ing raging..

Could be worse, you could've started it with no oil in... though I can't figure out how you'd get more than a half litre in before noticing it was pissing out all over the floor.

Ye i know but it was getting dark and i still had the dirty oil bucket under the bike. So there was no noise, reckon i poured bout 2 litres away. But the **** were watchin me do it. And said nothing for their own amusement.

Today I brought my bike to a mechanic. One of the delivery drivers at work reversed into it and knocked it over so had to bring it out. Not a huge amount of damage done but loads of small things that'll add up to a decent bill. I won't be paying it though, **** him.

On the bright side I got my insurance switched onto my dads bike. 1100LT with Watsonian sidecar. Never ridden a chair before.

Topped up my oil and took a lovely spin down to Waterford to do Mod 5 of IBT tomorrow....

Well, it was 121 Km of a lovely ride... the last Km before I got to travelodge had the sky open up and piss on me with a vengeance :pac:

Ah well, a decent sized bike to spin around Waterford tomorrow Can't wait.

Just replaced the Left mirror on my fazer and changed out the broken speed sensor for a good one.... but the speedo still isn't working..... anyone got any clues as to what might be the problem now? I know the speed sensor is in right, did it 3 times and it's in the grooves, it should be working, so I'm going mental.

Got a new tyre "PR2" and stuck my new levers on....aswell as a carbon fibre yoke cover to stop the keys making s.hit.e of the yoke and match the anodised master cylinder.

Fraction of the price compared to the Pazzo or the ASV levers, and are CNC machined from one piece just like the posh ones. I had Titax on the FZ6 and they were fine but finish on these are really nice and very well made. I got the titanium colour with the red adjusters, as the silver ones were really bright and cheap looking.

Worth every penny.

Finally made a start at fixing my blade, fixed the clutch fluid reservoir and cylinder, removed all plastics,. Sourced an engine bolt I need to replace.
Next on the list is:
Full service
Valve clearances
New front fairing stay bracket
New headlights
All new fairings
New mirrors.

I'm probably forgetting something, it's gonna be a while before it's back on the road

My bike is still with the mechanic having been knocked over by a delivery driver at work a few weeks back. Finally got moneys from FBD so can proceed with getting it sorted but its still going to be a while

Have been lucky in that I have family who have loaned me bikes for the past couple of weeks. I became quite attached to my cousins 990 Adventure but had to drop it back today. I am now without transport for the first time since I got a moped when I was 16. I'm away on holidays for the next week so as long as its sorted by the time I get back I'm happy enough.

Still prefer the GS but that Adventure is a serious machine. I may have to get one!

I had new tyres fitted to the Mille so I gave the disc bobbins a clean and lube. I removed, inspected, scrubbed out and freed up the calipers. I rotated the pads. All worthwhile as there was a noticeable increase in the power of the already amazing Brembos.

The bike handles completely differently compared to the low profile Sportmaxes. The new tyres- Diablo Corsas. I've never had tyres like this before but I want to do another track day soon. I didn't have time to enjoy it too much because I had to gather the whole lot up with paint and new graphics for my painter to do his magic after my spill last June.

Spent yesterday and today cleaning/sanding rear handles on the bike. Applied 3 coats of primer, black paint and lacquer. Then I went and dropped the handle on the last coat of lacquer:mad:
Ill have to respray that one now

Lol, Im not sure what the proper name for them is. Its the 2 handles you could use to tie a bungee cord around.
