Where did you hear 200 got through? I'd be well pleased with myself if that was the case, found the FEAST very tough...

Anyone who done It today hear anything yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 Mr Mike

    @shano_88

Nothing yet for me, but I chatted to one of the organisers and she if you are not called by Monday evening you are not invited to DART stage.

Anyone get contacted from the 8am group yet?

Am I correct in saying that 365 were invited to the FEAST test?

I overheard that number today but wasn't sure if it was the amount invited to it, or if it was the number that would progress from it to the DART test.

    @ shano - I got an email timestamped 3.22pm.

I heard the same on Wednesday, around 360 were invited for the FEAST and it would be roughly halved for the DART.
    Check above at #247

ochambers does that answer your question??

4 no-show's at the last session, out of 40 invited.

Were there many no-shows at the other times?

DART stands for dynamic air traffic control radar test. lol
Its basically a set of tests guiding aircraft around the screen through way points without colliding into the other aircraft.

Thanks very much. Do u know is there any website to go to to get an idea of what we will be facing?

Don't think so. There is very little info about the test so as not to give advantage to anyone. and everyone will be playing on a level field.
Good luck to all this coming week. If you get through the DART then it is said that you have what it take to be an ATC.

DART is only being done Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. No idea how many sessions or how long they last though. Doubt its less than 2 hours though, so would be very surprised if there was an 8am session.

As for people asking about DART - it was only introduced by EuroControl in 2011 so there's very little information about it available in the public domain.

Agree with Giving it Holly - makes for a more level playing field.

Do the math. Each test is 2.5 hours long so for a test to be held earlier plus time between each test, then an earlier test would be at 7am. Would be safe to say there is no earlier test. Mine is at 10 on Tuesday. How fast will they get back to us this time if we are successful?

The fact that they were calling people and telling them they were through after the first test suggests they cant know how many will go through?

They could otherwise have reached their quota after the first few classes which seems a bit unfair.

    Hi,

Got email this morning saying I was not successful in the FEAST, seems I don't have what it takes for ATC. People generally only post when their are successful, so this is for 200 or so who did'nt make it.

Even if I got the position I don't know could I survive two years without an allowance.

    Best of luck to all!

For what it worth I was talking to lad in the know and he said quality this year is as good as any. And said that even the bigwigs are shocked as its a bigger sacrifice than ever with the pay increases set to be frozen as money is drying up after investments in assets and there will be 0% chance of allowances as money is simply not there

Anybody know what the pass/fail standard is? i.e how many conflicts/crashes are you allowed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 groundcontrol

Hi Folks. This is my first post on here. 2 Things,
1 I am doing the DART test tomorrow and am crapping myself as I have no idea what to expect.

2 In relation to the early talk about the money I was assuming that shift allowance was payable on top of the basic payment of €32,500 as was previously payable. Does anyone know if this is correct or not?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,112 ✭✭✭notharrypotter

Thebasic salary for an Air Traffic Controller starts at €32,500 rising over a 20point annual incremental scale to a current maximum of €88,540. Air Traffic Controllers also receive a shiftallowance for working unsocial hours. Salary is payable by credit transfer lessstandard PAYE, Government Levies and PRSI deductions (Class A).
