Ha, that makes it quite a bit harder alright! Extremely hard to reach in 2 as the second shot is all carry!!! Only index 2 aswell! Think it should be index 1!!

It's an old school scorecard (That being, it adheres to guidelines that say the card should have odd numbers on the front and even numbers on the back 9) so the only reason it isn't Index 1 is besause it is on the back 9

After a long lay off it was back to action on Headfort New today in the safety of an open 4 person team. The course is picture postcard perfect. Lovely day. We had a decent score, won't win a prize but being on the fringe of contending kept us concentrating. My golf was so so. Enough good shots to make me postpone giving up altogether but enough bad ones to make me remember why I was considering giving up in the first place.

84 gross off 14 in Quinta da Marinha in cascais. Lovely track, golf is so much better in shorts with the sun on your back!! :)

34pts/88 strokes, off 14! Also was playing in a team event at the same time 93 pts with 2 scoring on each hole and 3 on the last 2! Was a poor score overall considering there was 104 carded!

36 points. 35 putts. Don't want to talk about it.

Net 73 today .. an awful 9 over front 9 which included a birdie on the 9th and 5 double bogies and a better 4 over back 9 in cobh .. the greens were up there with quickest I've ever played

28 points off 15, Brutal play. Other than some descent driving, I hardly hit a good shot all day. The +.1 I get for this will bring me to 16hcp:mad:

Played Moate this morning and had my best round in ages, 40pts off 15 (83 strokes) which I was delighted with. Was not in a singles comp though so no cut coming. Played in a 3 person waltz. 1 to score on 1st, 2 on 2nd, 3 on 3rd and so on 1,2,3 - 1,2,3 etc etc.

Was in tricky spots at times and to be fair to them the guys over in 'matchplay' thread got through to me and I went for safe sensible recovery shots which worked every time. Greens were perfect and my putting was back on form too which always makes a huge difference.

Played my best golf in a while yesterday to win Best Gross in our President's Prize. +2 74 off 6 for 40 points. Threw away my first under par round in competition and the President's Prize itself on the 18th. -1 standing on the 18th tee and put myself in trouble off the tee followed by a rookie error in shot selection from behind trees for my second putting me out of bounds and ending with a triple bogey 7. I was gutted. Found out later I won the gross which I was very happy with. Game was solid though in all departments so happy all in all.

39 points (87 shots) in a casual round in Ballykisteen today. Had a great start with 3 pars and a bogey in the first 4 holes. 20 points on the front, 19 on the back. Missed a few easy putts as well. No scratches either and my striking was much cleaner than it had been.

You wouldn't be saying that if you saw the way I was hacking it around Dundrum on Saturday! 3 .1's in a row has me in danger of undoing my good work from earlier in the year and heading back out to 19.

Been a good few days for me, have shot some decent scores and got the handicap moving in the right direction.

Shot a +2 73 gross on Wednesday in Lucan, 37 points and that included a bogey 6 on 18. That hurt a little because 38 won the competition, but managed to clip 3rd prize and got cut 0.3 for my efforts.

June medal on Saturday, shot a +1 72 gross. A better score in more ways than the obvious since we were off the back tees. Only made 3 birdies compared to Wednesday's 5, but only 4 dropped shots represented a tightening up of mistakes. Also managed to par the 18th hole for the first time in God knows how long which helped me to clinch the gross prize and a second consecutive cut of 0.3.

Continued the theme of limited mistakes on Sunday when I shot a level par 71, which contained 1 bogey and 1 birdie. The lone error came on the par 5 5th, probably the easiest hole on the course, so that was disappointing. Had a couple of fortuitous saves elsewhere but the round could've been a lot better otherwise, especially considering vicious lip-outs on 15 and 17 coming in.
No gross prize as there was a fine 68 posted, but squeezed 5th place out of it and another chop of 0.3 has me currently residing off 2.5.

Delighted with my few days work and glad to have gotten a bit of consistency back in my scoring. The three rounds were at my home course, so trying not to get overly excited but hoping this is the start of a good summer nonetheless!

85 strokes in the medal at the weekend, net 74 to hit the buffer.

    1 birdie
    6 pars
    8 bogeys
    3 doubles

37 putts. Mainly the result of a couple of very poor lag putts as overall was putting pretty confidently I felt.

Had a good front 9, one poor 3 putt on par 3 5th the only complaint, was 4 over. Back 9 was pretty sloppy. Couple of very loose tee shots had me chasing my tail.

Happy to hit buffer after a poor day with the putter. my consistency has definitely improved of late. Have been avoiding any major card wreckers for quite some time.

played headfort intermediate scratch cup yesterday . started with 3 pars and birdied 8,9 for a steady 7 over front 9 .3 more pars and a birdie on the back for a steady 8 over and 87 total .first time playing a scratch cup enjoyed it and will learn from it . course was in lovely condition but weather was crap rained for the first 11 holes  ,
. hit 2 fir beginning to think not worth bringing driver on a tight course
    hit 9 gir
    34 putts

    presidents prize - saturday

    5/14 fairways
    6/14 gir
    35 putts

    8 pars, 3 doubles, 7 bogies.
35 points - hit the css

    solid boring golf.

44pts won it, a guy off 8 shot level par with five birdies. Serious shooting....

75 (+2) at St Margaret's on Sunday in a 3 man team event.
4 birdies, 6 bogeys, 8 pars. Some nice scrambling helped with a couple of 30 footers thrown in as well. Fairly happy with the round although not picking up shots on any of the par 5s was a shame.

Jeez, you were unlucky with the weather, sun split the stones in Dublin yesterday (was cheerleading at the mini-marathon :p).

38 points yesterday off the forward tees with 36 putts. Again I don't want to talk about it.

45 strokes after work yesterday for a quick 9 holes,

some duffed irons here and there which is not helping the GIR stats but am happy that the 3 putts are a lot less common.

    2 pars
    3 bogeys
    4 double bogeys

    3/6 FIR
    1/9 GIR
    18 putts

    37 points yesterday off 14.

    FIR 6/15
    GIR 7/18
    37 putts.................4 three putts

    7 pars
    9 bogeys
    2 doubles

    11 over front 9.
    2 over back 9.

3 three putts in first 5 holes (again), really suffering on the greens, need some serious practice time. Three decent birdie chances turned into bogeys. Scratched index 18 with a double.

Irons were good for the most part.
Average off the tee but no wild misses. Bit unlucky on a few occasions, had to take an unplayable lie after landing in the roots of a tree (8 ft off the fairway) but made a bogey.

Very poor front 9 but happy with the way I turned it around in spite of my putting woes.

    Played 72 holes since Friday.

36 points friday evening so hit the buffer. Happy enough with the front 9 but a couple of silly mistakes on the back 9 cost me.

34 points in Limerick Golf club open singles on Saturday morning. Course in great nick. Again a very promising front 9 was undone a little on the back 9. Finishing bogey, double bogey

35 points Sunday to hit the buffer again. Steady overall with the wedge play and putting the most pleasing.

36 yesterday to hit the buffer again. The greens were as quick as I've seen them in 2 years and my chipping was poorish early in the round so was leaving myself lengthy par putts. Finished better than I started for a change with a par, par, birdie on the last 3.

I can feel a score coming when it all comes together in the next couple of weeks!!1
