Very frustrating today, off 18, inter scratch cup, birdie 4th, blow ball out of bounds on approach to 6th, recover well with birdie on 10, flyer on 17 coming from rough from 15yards on cost me a triple, ball out of bounds on 18 for a triple for level par round net, thought I had a great round going, balls:o

Playing the blues today 35 points off 6HC, was -1 playing the 9 and then the wheels fell off. Only hit one green in reg on the back nine, went through the back so many times and couldn't get up and down. Just one of those days:confused:

30 points today in Cahir Park. Scratched the first to turn with 19 points, 3 scratches and 11 points for the back 9! 5 3 putts and one 4 putt, couldn't find the cup at all.
Played well just not to be..

40 points today, off 15(14.6) happy enough with how I was playing! Could have hit the short irons a bit better, my 7,8,9 irons not very good today. Had 2 one pointers and a scratch so good going!

    10 pars
    6 bogeys
    1 double bogey
    1 triple bogey :(

I guess the swing changes I have been working on just werent there when I went looking for them.
Wasnt comfortable hitting a single iron, lots of them off the toe, which doesnt end well with MB's.

lots of unlucky breaks (penalty drops were all unplayables in roots, etc) couldnt hole a putt either.

    ahwell, such is golf.

5 pars, 11 bogies, one double, one triple for 88, off 21 for 41 points.

Had a lesson during the week which gave me a better idea of where my bad shots were coming from (sliding the hips when I was trying to give it too much welly). Only really happened the twice during the round (costing me three shots) with the result that I had fewer big scores.

    5/13 fairways
    7 gir
36 putts - nothing really sank from distance, made some knee knockers (that I had left myself), missed some knee knockers with 4 3 putts (all on greens I made in regulation). Also some nice work with the wedge in hand at times.

Anyway, first time through 90 and a decent cut so I'm delighted, but more work to do.

Played wednesday and had 31 points. got absolutely nothing all day and struck the ball really well.

Played today and had 36 points. got absolutely nothing all day and struck the ball really well. I guess I got slightly more today than I got on wednesday.

Athlone had better watch out on the day when I get EVERYTHING. seriously!

Played monthly medal in Rathcore off back sticks. Third round back following cack-hand change and 3 month lay off.

The weather was really really nice.

The weather was really nice in Grange Castle today.

Celebrations last night were also good.

Played our Intermediate Scratch Cup in Moate today. Nett 81 off 15. Wasn't pretty. Have developed a nasty habit of a half decent front 9 followed by pure muck on back 9 and today was no different.

It's bad when the only consolation I had was I finished with the same ball I started with!

72 nett (+3 gross) on the home track. good enough for gross as the conditions were a bit tricky - v windy, showers, tricky pins.... no cut though

An enjoyable weekend of golf in cracking weather.

Saturday was a society outing in tulfarris, scored 31 points which was good enough to win my class prize, 32 won overall. Left plenty on the course, including a 4 putt on one if the par 3s.

Then today out for singles in grange castle. Course was in great condition as they were hosting junior cup. 82 strokes for 38 points off 12. Just saw on howdidIdo that I came first, & css was 75 so cut a full stroke. 2 poor holes in the front 9 were the only blips on the card really. Had a great back 9, 3 over, so really happy with my play. 6 putts fewer than last week makes all the difference.

Slightly sunburned, but very satisfied :D

MB stands for muscle back, or forged, bladed irons. On a bad day, they can be unforgiving :p

Fair play Space, that was a fine score especially as the course was set up to play pretty tough for the junior cup.

Lisheen springs yesterday for a quick round. Didnt score that well and three putted way too many holes.

First time playing the course and I was fairly underwhelmed. grass on fairways was very patchy, greens were relatively slow despite the hard ground and my face was burnt to a crisp! :)

39 Points off 9 in Tullamore today. Should be cut to 8 now after that, that will be 2 full strokes in 1 week. Played ok, again my short game kept me in it. Irons were a lot better today too. Driving let me down at times, really need to work on it.

    GOLFSHOT7_zpsba8d7257.png

    4/13 Fairways
    7/18 Greens
    29 Putts

    1 Birdies
    11 Pars

    1 Double

Is that a typo on the first par3?? Or can u hit your seven iron 180? Just asking cause u used a 3i on the other par3's?? Obviously I don't know wind cond, just asking :)

Its slightly downhill and downwind normally. The others are all slightly uphill and into the wind usually. 150 would be a normal 7 iron for me.

Ah right was thinking! I use the golfshot app as well! Great for analysing your scores and where u need to improve!

Started using it as of last week also, quick and easy to use and easy to track all scores and not just home course. However what does the grey up and down arrows on the tee shot represent? I take it the red left and right to represent hook/pull and slice/push shots respectively and the red circle to represent fairway hit so I can only guess the grey arrows to represent thin and heavy shots?

Short and long I think, as in didn't reach fairway or ran through it

I've used them for a knockdown or when (all to frequently) i incur a penalty off the tee

As a collection of par 3's they offer fantastic variety in iron shots

    2nd hole - 6/7 iron downhill
6th hole - 5/6 iron all carry over a big bunker in front
9th hole - 8 iron uphill to a blind green
12th hole - 4 iron you can land short and run in
    17th hole - 5 iron uphill.

Fantastic holes on a great course :)

    Great score yaya

The options i have on mine, are hit, left(with arrow), long, right(with arrow), and short. It's a great app, on ipad it tells what the average is for your handicap and if you need to improve are are good in that area! My driving accuracy is phenomenal for my handicap :D
