We at A&R Towers (ivory) would like to distance ourselves from the above comment and assure those once cherished and now gone that our backdoor is always open and available for any members who might want to slip back in.
    Hope that clears things up....

Should be getting a replacement Sega Saturn in my Parcel Motel later today.

Does anybody want a slightly dodgy Sega Saturn for parts?

Fingers crossed, this week will see me buying something I've wanted for a while, and no not a friend or a functioning set of testicles, I hope to finally own Chrono Trigger, for the Snes, a US copy.
Just had an offer of €60 accepted on it, from a guy in Dun Laoghaire.
Fingers crossed all will proceed as it should.
It was the first game I'd try out on any given Snes emu back in the late 90's, but I never used that method to play it through.
I didn't pick it up on the DS either, although Retr0 has mentioned that it's an excellent conversion.
So, I can't wait to see that pendulum on my tv later in the week!
    Good times!

I got that a while back, & am waiting for the right time to play it...having never played it before, all its glory awaits me!

Never played it either and have it lined up to play soon.
Just did a count today on my games and even after a fair clean out since December, I still have over 300!
Sad that ill never have the time to complete them.

Got Zelda 2, Blue Shadow and Double Dragon 3 for the nes yesterday as well from a fellow poster from Limerick. Not Sera :pac:

Christ you guys haven't played Chrono Trigger! You need to sort that out pronto, it's not even that long of a game.

Agreed and I only got into the JRPG stuff lately but this is a little gem of a game. Only thing is the soundtrack will be stuck in your heads for ages afterwards :D

Best 16 bit JRPG of all time in my opinion. (PS IV a close second!) The characters in it are all extremely likeable.

I think I may play through it again actually. Been meaning to give it another go since Enternow did the battery holder mod on it :)

Yeah I've only really got into rpg/jrpg stuff lately too, this would have totally gone over my head during the gaming years of yonder

Yeah same here, I didn't get into them until the PSX generation. Real shame I didn't know about PS IV when it came out.

Most of the pre 32 bit ones I've played have been in the last 5-10 years.

Most Europeans didn't get into RPGs until FFVII. It was the first big release of a JRPG that we got over here. Sega did at least bring Phantasy Star out (and beat FF by about 2 years in the states) and the Shining series in the 16-bit period. However on the SNES and PS1 before FFVII we got very little, maybe the odd action RPG like Secret of Mana or Terranigma. Turn based stuff seemed to be very badly received.

I always found it odd. You think us 'cultured' Europeans would appreciate RPGs more than those explosion loving Americans.

Anime and Manga was and still is huge in many countries on the continent so I'm surprised nobody made that connection either although I think with all the german copies of terranigma somebody in Nintendo did.

The guy who also has NTSC/U copies of FFII and FFIII, if I had the money I'd buy the both of them, but having the choice I went for Chronotrigger, 65 with postage and fees, not a massive saving on Ebay prices, given its unboxed, but I can't wait to play it.

Normally a repro wouldn't interest me, but when it's a repro of a game that that never got released/localized, well that's different & is a welcome 'oddity' in the collection.

I thought it was localised ?

Was watching some RPG youtubey stuff and they were discussing this, apparently game was complete and ready to go but marketing folks pulled it at the last minute as they believed nobody in the US wanted an RPG.

Still, good get none the less (even if it is a smelly repo :) )

Yeah it was localised, but never released :) A repro is the only way to own this game, other than the native Jap version or one of the four known proto's of it :)
