Today I replaced the four lock nuts with just standard wheel nuts. So I'm very happy to say goodbye to the lock nuts they were a pain as they were severely worn and I knew that I would have hassle at some stage with them. Ford wanted 10 euro a wheel nuts so 40 quid. Got four delivered for 9 euro all in from uk and they fit perfect :) Temperature sensor on the way hopefully ill get it Monday that will be another thing fixed :)
Also gave it a quick wash. Will give it a proper clean from head to toe next week when I finish my exams only one left :)

    Meh.... Generic update....

    Tried to clean some wheels

    Before

    Somewhat before and after
    Image652.jpg

    Need a lot more work....

Onto the 406. Oblig oil change every 6k miles
    Image643.jpg

Then had a random moment.... I know, I'll change my boot trim! :)
    Image645.jpg

And sure while I have that off..... I'll change the carpet for the pocketed version!
    Image646.jpg

But that gave me access to the dent..... Out with some hammers
    Image647.jpg

    Meh, it'll do
    Image648.jpg

The finished result, before I put my toolbox and 38a back in!

    Random drive by vid

I hope this weather keeps up..... :)

You seem to be a little mis-informed. There's a bit of a problem if the engine is in the passenger seat area :pac:

Don't be giving me any more bad ideas!!!

Got 4 wheel alignment done on the focus today. Made a huge difference as it was out a small bit. At least now it goes dead straight.

Get some turtle wax alloy wheel cleaner on them. I picked some up in the 3 for 2 offer yesterday and fook me, after only one pass they came up like new.

Just need to agitate it with a small brush and rinse off after a few minutes.Once that's done spray on some turtle wax wet 'n' black for the tyres. I know people don't have a lot of faith in cheap sprays but cheap doesn't always mean it's ****e.

Tesco had a special on Simoniz sprays recently and I picked up the alloy cleaner one. It worked great. Just spray on and wipe off. I could see the dirt and grease rolling off.

Got that one here. I daycent enough alright. Bought a manky set of alloys and it took everything off bar a few spots of tar and the glue for the balancing weights.

    Payed 8 euro for it.

I removed the rev counter from my car and spent 2 hours polishing it with Biorb aquarium cleaner. The 8th gen Civics have a blue tinted anti glare film on the rev counter, and it scratches really badly. In any Civic i've sent, once rubbed with a cloth, it looks like somebody has used a brillo pad on it. The aquarium cleaner removes the anti glare film which in turn removes the scratches. It takes a hell of a lot of elbow grease though! It looks great now, and without the anti glare film, there still isn't any glare from the sun :D

I also put on the locking nuts that I bought about a month ago!

Will you post pics, I have a scratch on my rev counter driving me mad, would be wary of removing the film though.

Don't think i've any before pics, but I will take some after pics tomorrow. Or else I might just rob a few pics from the Civic owners forum and show you how big a difference it makes!

Ya they can be stupid money. I got mine from car systems.pl for 211 euro including UPS shipping.
I was pretty happy with it because I've paid roughly that for 3rd party and Parrot Bluetooth systems before.
It does need to be coded in using VCDS after the install too.

Oh I totally agree mate, I have them already just waiting to be fit but I need to get tyres :(

They're from a Stilo, got wobbly bolts in all - here's how it will look (bar the fogs, colour coded handles and mirrors and overall shine) :)

Took the day off/working from home and just finished cleaning out the Passat over lunchtime, took her down for a wash and then hoovered & polished the interior.

All going to plan tomorrow there'll be an A6 in her place. Will miss it all the same.. 5 years and just under 200,000 km together and never given me any problems beyond normal (frequent!) servicing and wear and tear stuff.
